I love it. Finish is great - nice satin stainless. Trigger pull is good. Novak sights were lose from factory, had to tighten them up. Also, sight white dots are hard to see, I used a bright yellow paint marker and put a drop on the front post, makes it much easier to see. Some aftermarket sights available, but this will do. Both magazines from factory look and function great. First 100 rounds 2 days ago went through this gun without a single miss feed. Front and back grip checkering is nice - not too aggressive to leave skin imprints, but coarse enough to give a good non-slip grip. Front and rear slide pull serrations are on-point. Shoots accurately. Other than the grips, the gun is perfect and ready to go. Stock grips are very thin, too thin for me, I have average size hand. Gun came in a nice plastic box with safety locks and rear sight hex screw. Wonder why not the front, since its the different size... Anyways, its a fantastic firearm that will be my workhorse. I cant believe how much gun I got for my money. Bravo Taurus! And as always, thank you Buds for price and fast'n'easy service.

My nephew / Godchild finished basic training for the US Army recently. I wanted to get him a Christmas gift that meant something, and really wanted to give him a 1911. They all seemed too expensive (Colt, DW, Springfield, etc). This Taurus in Stainless caught my eye, but “it’s a Taurus”, right? I asked the owner of my gun club his opinion, and he said that Taurus has come a long way in the last 5-10 years, and encouraged the purchase. I ordered from Bud’s. Upon receipt, I took it to the range. I wanted to run a box through it to break it in a bit, and make sure there were no issues. 50 rounds - flawless. 49 were in a 2” circle at 7 yards. It’s up there with my Colt Gold Cup Trophy / National Match barrel. Cleaned it up, put some US Army grips on it, and he’s happy as can be. 250 more rounds through it Christmas afternoon without a hiccup. Perfect. I would recommend.

pistol has a safety problem it will misfire if you hold the pistol without a very tight grip I returned the pistol to Taurus and they fired it 16 times and told me it was alright i used the ammo they used and it misfired on the first round two more in 16 rounds the sad thing is I have a older Taurus 1911 that is great no misfires with hundreds of rounds I think the problem is the California safety

My stainless Taurus 1911 amazed me. It arrived promptly, was clean with only light lube where it should have been. It shows no roughness in machining anywhere. The slide to frame fit shows not the slightest play - could not be better. The barrel bushing fit is all one could expect on a commercial pistol. Even the tightest custom fit of the bushing would not offer enough improvement to be worth the trouble. The trigger pull came in at 5 3/4 pounds with the slightest roughness noticeable only with extremely close examination. A normal trigger press feels crisp and clean. A 1911 trigger is easily improved if desired. Unfortunately, I was laid up with a broken ankle before having a chance to fire the pistol but I will be very surprised if the pistol does not show outstanding accuracy. I could not be more pleased.

There is not enough good that I can say about this handgun. I am blown away by the features that you get at such a bargain price. Front serrations, checkered front strap, Novak sights, ambi safety, adjustable skeletonized trigger, (5.1 lb pull), Commander hammer, etc. This is a lot of gun for a reasonable price. I own a Colt Defender, and a Colt Commander; I have owned an Ed Brown Commander also. I would put this out-of-the-box PT1911 against any of them. I have just finished running 250 rounds of ammo through it without a single issue, not a single one. I am going tomorrow to run another 250 and expect there to be no issues then either. $535.00 plus the transfer fee for a tight, feature loaded 1911 is not bad at all. I was a little reluctant to buy a Taurus, but when I began to research them, I like what I read. Taurus makes every part of the 1911, except the Novak sights, in-house. Every slide and frame is cold forged, not mold injected, and then is hand fitted by a gunsmith, not by a machine. You can\'t go wrong with this 1911 for the price. Buds, of course, is excellent in their service. This makes gun #10 for me from them. Love Buds.
