i looked at several other 1911's and this one was my final choice. kimbers had to many negative comments, springfields were way overrated and over priced, and smith and wessons seemed to be just right. i lucked out and got a great gun. i got some great service from buds also. the gun is very controlable, very light, and very high quality for any price. the only complaint i can think of is the loose trigger but after about 100 rounds i got use to it. feels like an almost custom gun. priced like a kimber pro carry II but carries, handles, and feels like a wilson combat. Im not a great shot, i was getting about 2.5" at 15 yards with spear gold dots but i know it will do much better than that. you cant go wrong with this gun. you will not be sorry. dont second guess the external extractor, after the first 200 rounds without a hitch, i dont. the smith and wesson, 8 rounds of speer gold dots, and your set.

I have had my S&W 1911PD 45 4.25 Commander for a while now.I have put about 400 rounds trough it.It has preformed flawlessly wright out of the box & has needed no adjustments.I was looking at a Springfield 1911 but being fom a anti-gun state your are limited on what you can buy.So this being my 2nd choice I bought it.It has knocked my socks off. This is one solid gun.I really like the light weight frame & the fit in the hand is perfect. The Novak low profile 3 dot sights blend wright into to the top of the gun. S&W PD 1911's are real sleepers.I would grab one before the word gets out.Of corse Bud"s is the only place to buy any gun. P.S. This gun is wife approved. She loves it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got mine yesterday and put a hundred rounds through it today with no problems. It is a pleasure to look at, hold and shoot. It is my second comander size gun and I think the size and weight are perfect, for me, anyway. I also got a Springfield loaded full size yesterday also which is sweet but I have to say I prefer the Smith& Wesson.

I bought the S&W 1911PD five months ago. It has function perfectly and the finish is just beautiful. I shot it last night in a carry match and I have to tell you this is one amazing gun. I have competed in uspsa for 6 years and I would not hesitate to shoot this in Single Stack division. The factory trigger on this weapon was the best I've ever experienced...just a tad over 4lbs. Compared to a full size all steel 1911 this baby is a joy to carry and shoot. In my opinion the commander size makes the 1911 the ultimate ccw weapon. Its amazingly light but the recoil is easily managed. I just love this firearm!
