not graet. I think the chamber is slightly large seems to blow back a little around the casing and your face but not bad. Rear sight totally too large and hard to pinpoint. Action is good along with everything else.

Ug. I wanted to love this rifle. I really, really did. It looks awesome. Especially in stainless. But the quality and fit was so poor, I just couldn\'t. The top plate that screws in place on top of the bolt would not stay on until I generously used locktite. Even then, the plate fit so poorly around the edges that it would not keep gases from blowing up and out into my face every time I fired. Why were gases coming back into the action? Because the chamber was so oversized the cartridges just could not seal out the gases. Every cartridge came out black as coal. God knows how much pressure was lost. Didn\'t feel safe shooting it. If you shook the rifle it rattled like a paint can. Mostly due to the loose tolerances in the pump fore grip. There are other Italian manufactures that make a better (but much more expensive) version of this rifle. Sold it with as many warnings as I could. This was my second Taurus rifle. Lesson learned.

I purchased the Taurus Thunderbolt chambered for 45 Colt more as a novelty, to use for target shooting, than for use with any other purpose. Most of the information I saw prior to the purchase involved the rifle jamming. A careful inspection of the firearm when I received it revealed no flaws. The workmanship was excellent, barrel, stock, and finish were all immaculate. I have several Taurus products and have never had any issues, however, this is my first rifle manufactured by them. I have shot about 50-60 rounds through the rifle. Without any sight adjustments, it was very accurate at about 50 yards. I haven\'t had the opportunity to fire it at longer distances. I experienced 2 jams during this outing. They were early on. I found if I made a point of pumping the bolt completely back, this eliminated the jamming issues. It slowed the shooting process down a bit, but seemed to have eliminated the problem. The rifle is heavy eliminating any recoil feel. Bottom line: I have no regrets purchasing the Taurus Thunderbolt. Used for a relaxed day of target shooting, it is an enjoyable product.

Read the mixed reviews online about this gun yet went ahead and trusted my instincts and ordered one in 45LC. Arrived quickly and well packaged. I've owned other Taurus firearms before and this one's about the same in quality and function. Seems to have good fit and finish, nice wood and functions flawlessly so far. Its an impressive looking rifle. So, if you're looking for something a little different from the usual Winchesters and Marlins and the other lever action knockoffs, you might want to take a second look at this one. Fast action, seems to feed good with the generic Cowboy ammo I've used so far. I would buy another one and would recommend this as an alternative to the usual Cowboy lineup.

This is a fun rifle to shoot. Especially if you have a few steel targets. Be sure to have a LOT of ammo available as it encourages you to shoot quickly and then you want to load and shoot again ... Balance is good. Feels lighter than listed weight. Sights are barely usable. Will add after market ghost ring sights. Important to work the action briskly. If you stop after the pull in, you may have trouble pushing back as the mechanical advantage of the action is weakest at that point. Work it quickly and there is no problem.

After receiving this gun and I finally got it out of the box I found out that it was made of high-quality material and everything worked the way it was supposed to I was happy to own this gun and it cost a lot less then a Colewood
