My first impression on handling this gun during the transfer at my local FFL was, man, this thing is top-heavy. I was hoping I wouldn't regret buying this pistol. I was really discouraged when neither of the two magazines that came with the pistol would drop free when pressing the release. I basically have to pry them free from the grip. Stripped and cleaned thoroughly, with all the appropriate profanity that usually accompanies disassembling/reassembling Ruger Mark IIIs, before first shooting. Oh, and I do believe my front sight is very very slightly canted to the left. It's very subtle but there. This past weekend I put two hundred rounds through it. Not a single failure of any kind. The trigger is heavy and has a bit of a gritty feel during takeup. The first hundred rounds were fired at a single target about 10 yards away. The gun shot consistently about an inch right of the bullseye which would tend to confirm a slightly left-canted front sight. A little adjustment on the rear sight fixed it. I didn't notice at all the top-heaviness that I had initially felt when I first picked it up during shooting. Maybe I just got used to it. Naturally, the light polymer frame and 5.5" bull barrel is going to have a different balance than my EDC (Kahr CW9). Now, here's the deal. My research associate, Mr. Google, tells me that the sticky magazines and gritty triggers are due to the magazine safety lock in these guns. Removing the useless device and replacing the empty space with a custom hammer bushing readily found online has resulted in an entire internet full of much happier Mark III shooters. I expect to be one of them soon.

Fabulous! to put it simply. The pistol is weighted perfectly. I have put thousands of rounds through it, ranging in quality due to availability issues, and have not had one single problem with any. Shot bulls eye shots over and over right out of the box at 20yds. Best simple plinker for the price.

Really nice gun for the price. A bit unrefined, but a nice little plinker, and very accurate. Shipping and Service from Bud's Gun Shop was no less than superb! As always, Thanks.

Just got this gun a couple of days ago and fired it for about an hour yesterday. Love everything about it so far. Have read how hard it is to clean and get back together but haven't tried it yet. Think I will be using it a lot. Thanks Buds Gun Shop for the quick delivery.
