First of all Buds has been excellent in all my transactions so far. Buy with extreme confidence from Buds!!! I bought this pistol for USPSA competition because so many others were using the same pistol. My experiance with this pistol has been nothing short of dreadful. At first this thing ran like clockwork. However that soon changed. The second match things went south when the rounds wouldn't feed. They would hang up on the feed ramp. Everyone quickly diagnosed magazine problems. I've sent the pistol and mags back to Para (Thanks Buds for lighting a fire under thier butts). They even test fired all of my mags, 10 in all. At $1000 for the gun and $35 per mag, I'm into this pistol a fair amount. I know it's not a custom handfit pistol but it should run as good or better than my $450 XD with $20 mags. After the second round at Para, 5 of my 10 mags still don't work. In one of them the follower was hung up at the bottom of the mag and I was able to just shake the rounds out! When it was working, this is one of the best pistols I've used. But if it isn't reliable, what's the point? I've been told (by fellow USPSA shooters) I can have a Para gunsmith guru tune each mag for $35 each. No thanks. Buds has been great to work with trying to come up with a solution. Don't hesitate to buy from Buds, get the warrenty, but do not buy this gun.

This is my second 1911, but my first high capacity. BTW- I only use high capacity because 1911s first came designed for 7-8 rounds to this is a correct term. Newer designs, in my opinion should be labeled restricted capacity or standard capacity. Anyway, this gun is a great shooter. The third day I had it I took it out to a USPSA match. It was stock, not even base pads to increase the magazine capacity...yet. I was able to place 1st in my division. And that was with a front fiber optic sight bent to the left. This brings up another point. Derek, here at Buds was able to hook me up with great customer service. Buds emailed a UPS label so I could have Para fix it. Para also replaced two of my mags that were a little stiff (I've got 8 now- they don't give those things away do they?) So all in all excellent customer service from Buds via Derek and from Para as well. Do not hesitate to buy this pistol. It fits in any 1911 holster because it's only the grip that is slightly wider than a single stack and that doesn't go into a holster does it? It may not be a true 1911 to some but a high capacity 1911 in .40 that looks, shoots, and feels this good is unmatched from a production gun. Thanks again Buds!

I purchased the Para S16-40 in January 2011. I absolutely love this gun! I had to put almost 400 rounds through it to work out the failure to feed issues and the sights were about 3 inches low and about 2 inches left but with the adjustable sights it was a breeze to dial in a 1 inch grouping. The magazine needed a little cleaning and some minor filing to help work out the FTF issues but it is shooting like a dream now. I carry a Springfield XD-40 for my duty weapon and I do believe I will start carrying this for my duty weapon when requal come around!

I bought this gun several months ago, and what else can I say other that "wow"! Buds had a great price for it. The gun is very accurate and it has 16 rounds!
