I purchased this CZ over one year ago and I did include a review, though I wasn't very experienced at the time. The truth is, this pistol was a wonderful place to start for me. I hadn't handled a handgun since leaving the service in 1982. I made mistakes. My first purchase did not suit me at all. BUT! There is no better instructor than a well made gun. I own about 7 handguns now but the 75b will always... always be my love without peer! Even this, the most basic of CZ pistols can make you shine as a range shooter. There are uncountable after markets for special accessories! I installed TFX sights and custom grips and honestly I consider it the most beautiful gun at the range. Even our gunsmith can't keep from admiring it. The pistol's every line and curve is sculptured metallic grace! Accuracy did take me a while and I should have hired someone to train me, but little by little I learned. I'm 65, wear bi-focals and my hands shake, but at 7 yards, I can keep my shots in a 2" circle. That's saying something for any 1st year shooter, let alone an old dog like myself. At 10 yards, a 4" circle and at 5 yards, they're all bulls eyes! The grip is something you will dream of, it's that comfortable! I wondered if I should have gone with the more modern, poly gun with rails for do-dads. I can't tell you how glad I am I didn't do that because this is one classically beautiful gun! It took a good 1000rds. to get rid of trigger grit. No one will give glowing credit to the trigger, not even the Omega trigger. Now, I wouldn't trade it for any other trigger system. It has actually made me a better shooter. Sights were set at the factory and were right on point. Age required the sight upgrade, not the gun. This was the first time in my life as a single father of three, that I opted for the brand name. All of the clones I've tried were great but because I went for the origional, added much more value to me than for most guys. This will be the 68 Mustang I should never have sold! I have better than 6000 rounds on this pistol now and the only problem I've had was from nasty Aquila rounds I bought. Couldn't shoot 50 rounds without cleaning it! If you're pushing your budget, save a little longer... you will be happy you did! It would be a bargain at twice the price!

There are a great number of excellent 9mm pistols on the market right now, certainly every competent manufacturer has a model that is worthy of your consideration. Choice is a great thing, it also makes coming to a decision pretty difficult since there is no clear winner in terms of 'best'. For me what made the CZ-75 stand out is the grip shape, this one simply fit my hand better than any other 9mm I have tried, so for me this one points very naturally. In addition because of it's very low barrel axis the felt recoil is lower than any other 9mm I have handled, allowing accurate follow up shots very quickly. I find the standard 16 round magazine to be sufficient, cleaning and maintenance is straightfoward and easy. If I had to list some negatives, first would be that I do wish the slide release located just a little further back, as is I do have to shift my shooting hand to release the slide. This is a problem I have experienced with a lot of designs. The other might not be a negative at all in the mind of others. This is a full steel pistol, which means it does run heavy compared to the polymer frame pistols though once again that helps negate recoil. I have no regrets, and strongly suggest everyone in the market for a 9mm at least try the CZ-75.
