Smith and Wesson perfection! The 460 is a beautiful revolver. I can think of no reason, other than the cost, why a person should not purchase one of these. For the money you get a heck of a lot of craftsmanship. I have guns that have cost more than the 460 but none of them surpass the quality, most don't even match the quality. I also own the S&W 500 with 4" barrel. If I had to chose one or the other I would go with the 460 just because it is so versatile. Bud's is great!

Love it. My favorite behind my TRP. Excellent fit and finish. Trigger feels good and breaks crisp. Timing spot on. Shooting 45LC: no recoil, gun is extremely accurate. Haven't shot any 454 yet, not sure if I will. Shooting 460 (Bear loads): very rewarding. Accurate, recoil feels great. Everyone should own a big bore revolver. After shooting two rounds of 460, my buddy cursed me out and stated that his wife would hate me, because he now has to get one. Very happy with my purchase. Waiting to try out my home rolled warm 300 gn Hornady XTPs next. Now to decide if I want to scope it, this will also define which holster to obtain.

Incredible revolver. I had been looking at revolvers when I decided on this one. I am usually a semi-auto person, but the versatility of the 460 drew me to it. I love the ability to shoot .45 Colt, .454 Casull, and 460 S&W. The ability to throw 200gr. downrange at rifle velocities from a revolver was intriguing as well. From the range, I will tell you that the trigger on this is as good as any of those out of the Pro Series. As far as shooting it goes, the recoil from .45 Colt actually feels lighter than my M&P 40. A lot of that is the fact that this thing weighs almost 5 pounds when loaded. And it is amazingly accurate! Even in 460, the recoil is mainly back into your hands, not up. The compensator (the sorter one for copper jacketed bullets) directs a lot of energy out and up so that it only rose about 6 inches in my hands. It kicks, but manageable. The only thing is you get A LOT of flash and noise. You will clear the shooting bench. Those close to you will not want to be there, and those not near you will gather around to find out what the heck is making that much noise. Tons of fun! Great fit and finish on this revolver. Plus it LOOKS like a revolver, unlike the longer barreled 460's. I have a new favorite handgun!

Wow! What an animal! My whole life I never was much of a revolver fan. However this S&W 460 XVR has changed that. The fit and finish is great! Absolutely beautiful! And shooting this hand cannon is smooth! Felt recoil is nothing of what you would expect. Very manageable and pleasant! S&W outdid themselves here. Beyond pleased!
