One of my favorite 45's of all time. Thousands of rounds shot with no issues whatsoever. This thing works all of the time, every time. I would purchase another one if I could find one.

Here is an update from my earlier review where I complained about the clumsy target sights.....With the help of a talented gunsmith (and a little more money), this gun is now the most formidable .45 I've ever had. Mechanically perfect, incredibly accurate and it will shoot all day long. Now that I have adjustable three dot tritium night sights installed, this gun is incredibly accurate - 1 1/2" groups at 75 feet and eats any kind of ammo. Only caveat is you've got to have big hands because this gun is a BEAST- much larger than, say, a full-size 1911. Recoil is managable, it feels like a custom 10MM. Its a better shooter than I am, and I love it. Bud's excellent price freed up some cash for the smithing and now I give this gun 5+ out of 5. Wish they made a holster for it, but its a big weapon to carry.

I am a huge fan of full sized HK handguns. The Expert is reliable accurate and inspires confidence with its size and quality. Why, then, does it have clumsy rerto target sights? Black rear sights, black notch, big black front dovetail. It you are shooting at anything other than a bright colored target, you'll never see it. A gun of this quality and expense should have high-end night sights as standard equipment or at least high contrast white three dot sights. Its a great gun, but you can't see well enough to use it. What a pity. More profit for my gunsmith, I guess. Come on HK its the 21st century.

H&K guns in general are very accurate. The USP Expert has a longer barrel than the the USP and has the O-ring that is supposed to increase accuracy. The added heft of the longer slide adds to the stability making this gun very easy to shoot and shoot well.
