Rugged and durable, this is the AK47 of pump guns. If you can run an 870, you can run this with your eyes closed. While some of the surfaces are not finished to a high grade, the gun's build quality is top notch. I would consider some of their offerings for hunting or other shotgunning sports, and will likely be adding a 20ga. soon. Bud's online purchase was a breeze especially since they already have me FFL in their system, however it took several days for the item to ship, then several more for it to arrive. Not a huge deal to me since the shipping is free.

I got this shotgun form Bud's back in 2014 when it was on sale for $155.00. Yeah, that was a while back, and I'm reviewing it now, three years later, to report that these guns will last you. They work right out of the box... well, AFTER you clean all the cosmoline out of the gun. It will come drenched in the stuff (for preserving the firearm). The H&R is a Chinese made shotgun, made by Norinco, the same company that makes the IAC Hawk 981, 981Rs, and 982 series of shotguns. These guns are clones of the Remington 870, but with steel receivers and trigger guards (rather then the plastic trigger guards on the 870s). Norinco is owned by the Cerberus Group, which is the same corporation that owns Remington and other "American" manufacturers. So yes, both the Norinco guns and Remingtons are ultimate coming from the same corporation. Except for the barrels, all 870 parts/accessories can be swapped into this gun. I recently my Pardner pump to a friend, and will be buying Norinco's IAC Hawk 981R, because I want the rail. This is an excellent gun for anyone who wants a Remington 870, at the price of a Mossberg Maverick 88.

Third purchase from Buds; always excellent in communication, packaging, tracking and delivery as the first two times around. Couldn't be any smoother unless I just walked in the door, which I would like to do at some point soon. The H&R shotgun needed cleaning from the shipping grease/lubrication but nothing out of the ordinary and an easy, thorough cleaning took care of that. The shotgun is rugged, solid in feel and operation. Cycles rounds easily with a firm motion on the forend. I'm happy with that; gives a feeling that no accidental movement will occur unless intended. I've only shot 7.5 birdshot through it so far and there have been no difficulties of any kind. As a strong-left person, I did change out the safety out for a Wilson Combat dome safety which has proven easier for me to manipulate with my thumb and index finger. I am quite please with this purchase. For home defense and pests as the intended usage, the Harrington & Richardson Pardner Protector shotgun is perfect for this task. Thanks Buds!!

I'm fairly new to the shot gun field, I purchased this for home defense and why not buy a great gun for a very reasonable price. Besides even though I probably wont be added anything to it, it does take 870 parts. Buds Guns are great also.
