First of all, Buds is amazing to purchase from. Excellent service and fast shipping, if I ever need another gun this is for sure where I will purchase it. Now for the PT-1911. The finish on this gun is great, but it wears off easily so I'm going to refinish it with a stronger and longer lasting finish. This bothered me for a while until I actually got out and shot this thing. This gun will eat whatever the heck you put in it. I was shooting semi-wad cutters that had been sitting in an ammo can outside for 15+ years and there was not a single jam or malfunction. It is dead on accurate. Hands down the best pistol I have ever shot. I highly recommend this to anybody looking for a fantastic 1911 or .45. And after I manage to refinish it, I'm sure this is a gun I will keep until the day I die. Taurus knows what they are doing!

Upon arrival this thing was dirty. Like been to the range, shot 500 rounds, soaked in oil and grease for months dirty. I've never seen such a dirty "new" gun. Maybe it took Taurus several (hundreds!) of rounds to get this thing tuned. Strange. The second thing I noticed was that the rear sight is canted/crooked. Probably a good 5-7 degrees off. Just enough so that it's noticable with the naked eye. Annoying and an obvious lack of QC at Taurus. It makes me wonder what else slipped through the QC cracks. Anyway after I cleaned it up and resigned myself to the fact that the rear sight will always be just a little bit "wrong" I headed to the range. It fed nicely and behaved well with the WWB I fed it. It shot low and left but I'm inclined to say it was as much user error as the gun itself. The plastic grips leave a lot to be desired. Overall I'd give this 3.5 stars but I'll round that up to 4. If I had to do it again I'd spend an extra 25-50 bucks and get a Springfield (even if it has a few less bells and whistles).

I never had been a .45 fan until I handled one of these. This is a fantastic pistol. I ordered aftermarket magazines and they worked fine. This is a great value as it has standard equipment that is optional on much more expensive 1911 models. Seamless performance with several different brands of ammo. I am now a 1911 believer and a confirmed Taurus fan. This gun isn't going anywhere for a long time. And Bud's is a pleasure to work with.

Never have been a 1911 fan but this pistol is exceptional. Accurate and easy to handle. Well built. Lots of fun to shoot. A great 1911 at a great price.

Bought this a few months ago and have about 500 rds through it. Serious FTE problems. At least one or two rounds every clip. Finally took it to the gunsmith who worked on the extractor: tuned it, polished a burr, and machined the head. Hopefully this will have fixed it. cost about $40. if it's fixed, i will rate it 5 stars. it shoots great when it works. for now, it only gets 3 what a pain in the ass this is not a reflection of budsgunshop. they did their part very well.

This is a BUY NOW. I have 2 Kimbers, and 2 Springfield mil-specs. Not quite a Kimber but it beats the SA mil-specs in every way but the NAME. Quality and yet for the price not an entry level 1911-has it all. That said, the finish on the blue is great but be prepared to spend a few hours and a bottle of Hoppes to clean the SOB-it came packed for the next millennium.
