Dealing with Buds was great like always. Quick shipping and all. This PT1911, while a great price, leaves some to be desired. I am not unhappy with my purchase. I actually like the gun overall. But, I don't think this is for a first time 1911 owner. When milling, they left the milling oil mixed with metal shavings throughout the firearm. There was also numerous sharp burrs near the hammer that will need some filing down and light sanding to smooth out. Inside the frame, there are a lot of burrs too, but they don't hinder operation so I'm not worried so much about those. But I had to do a complete disassemble. I pulled the hammer, sear, disconnector, trigger, mainspring housing and all. They were all covered with the thick milling oil and had small pieces of metal shavings on them. The trigger was gritty out the box because of this. And this is why I say not a first time 1911 owner gun. A person new to 1911's might get confused about complete teardown and cleaning and reassembly. But, once I cleaned and reassembled the gun, it looks great. And it's a lot smoother on the trigger and slide action. So all in all, after the cleaning, I am happy with the gun. But just know that this isn't a wipe it down, lube and shoot out the box deal. You're going to have to tear this down all the way. And you might have to do some filing or sanding to get rid of burrs. As far as fit and finish, it seems really tight and the finish is nice. The checkering on the front and rear of the magwell are even and look perfect. The grips are cheap plastic and are getting replaced. Not a deal breaker at all as I was going to replace them anyway. I'm comfortable with tools and working on firearms, so I would buy another one as the price is cheap. But if you're not, then I would suggest buying another 1911.

great pistol right out of the box, I put 100 rds through with no issues. great SS finish, but I will replace the grips as most 1911 owners do. The only small issue with the gun is the excessive lube/oil on the gun itself from the factory, had to clean off the junk throughly. Great buy!!

Frequent Buds buyer and always pleased with their service! This pistol has been a pleasant surprise. This is my first Taurus firearm. I had been reluctant to buy one because of mixed reviews on many different forums. This is a very nice 1911. Fit and finish are very good. Out of the box accuracy was beyond my expectations. 150 rounds fired with no issues. Breaking in nicely. Factory mags leave a little to be desired but I have PLENTY of CMC and WC mags to use with it. Don't know if I received an anomaly because of the quality, but I feel much better about Taurus products because of the quality of this firearm! I would recommend this gun for a great first 1911!

Firstly let me say Bud's did an awesome job. Now onto the PT 1911. I thought that it would be a good purchased based on a previous purchase of a Taurus revolver. How wrong I was. I have owned it less than a month. This is not my first 1911. I wanted to change the sights, so when I was doing the install I had to drill out the screw that holds the Novak rear sight. I figured that someone had gotten over zealous and thought nothing else about it. The next issue was I had already put about 200 rounds through it and all was fine. After I installed the sights I wanted to make sure I had then sighted in properly, so back to the range. After ten rounds the right side safety lever fell out of the gun. I looked at it was broken. I called Taurus and they said they would send me a prepaid label so I could send it back for repair. I asked why the piece could be sent to me. They said that because the gun has a lifetime warranty the gun had to be sent back. I asked how long it would take they said four to six weeks. I decided to replace the parts myself. The next thing that happened I was back at the range and the mag release breaks. I decided that to be on the safe side I would replace all the internals. Bottom line I won't be making anymore Taurus purchases.
