Let me start off by saying that this is my first purchase from Buds. This gun showed up in a timely fashion and was absolutely flawless! I have put 100 rounds through the gun so far and she performed amazingly well. No FTF or FTE. For the money, I don't think that you can get a better 1911. I would highly recommend this gun to anyone! Great job Buds for offering this gun at such an amazing price!

I'm a bit disappointed with this gun. First Bud's didn't send what I ordered. I ordered the 911ss and received the one with the rail under the barrel. Well, I thought so what, it'll be OK, it's more expensive anyway. Well It doesn't fit a normal 1911 holster, that's what! Then the condition of the bolt face of the slide was atrocious. They must adjust headspace with a tiny belt sander. The center of the bolt face was sanded/ground crooked and angled as well as recessed in the slide quite a ways. There were sanding/grinding nicks on the slide at the ejection port that they tried to sand off, but that didn't work out either. Contacted Taurus warranty and they were very helpful, sent a will call FedEx next day, Friday afternoon. Next Friday morning it was back with a new slide and barrel. It wasn't perfect either, but not something I can't remedy myself. Now to the range. The first slide had nice big white dot sights, Knovaks. The new ones are also Knovak, but tiny little barely visible pale whitish dots. Poor at best. Then shooting over a bench and bags using the normal sight picture, same as explained in the Taurus manual, it shoots 6" low at 25'. Contacting Knovak they tell me the sights are proprietary to Taurus and no standard Knovak sight will fit the Taurus dovetail without machining new dovetails and it already has the shortest front sight available from Knovak. I faxed Taurus warranty a few days back, didn't have the patience to wait on hold for 1/2 hour or so to talk with someone about the sights. As of yet, no response, not really expecting one either. So far, disappointed, wrong gun from Bud's, sent back ot Taurus for warranty before even firing it, now it shoots 6" low. What's to love about it! If I had it to do over I would never buy it again. My AMT, Witness and my son's Rock Island and Llama are better shooters. I guess I'm stuck with it!

I'm pleased overall with my PT1911 and Bud's excellent service and price! The recoil is mild, although muzzle flip is quite pronounced. The thumb safety was very stiff, but loosened up nicely with vigorous exercise. The trigger pull is just about right with no discernable creap and very little reset (_1/8") between each hammer release. Had 2 FTEs out of the first 200 rounds of Winchester FMJ white box. Extractor failed to catch casing lip. I like the traditional 1911 look and feel of this pistol. My only disappointment is that it came with a Novack two dot rear sight instead of Taurus' advertised Heinie straight-eight sights. The Taurus PT 1911 owners manual specifications table (page 26) lists the front sight as "Heinie sight, fixed" and rear sight as "Heinie sight, drift adjustable". I'll be contacting Taurus to see what they are willing to do about this.

I was so excited to get this gun; most all reviews by actual owners had been extremely positive. I had it hyped up so high in my mind I was expecting it to be just all around amazing.... i was not disappointed! I shot this for the first time just last night and to say it is accurate is an understatement. The trigger is very nice and it fed all the ammo i shot (including hollow points) right out of the box. I cannot believe how great this gun feels, and again, how accurate it is. I have read so many things of people saying that the only way to get a quality 1911 is to spend about $1000 on a gun, and then just as much getting it "tuned and polished" so it'll function correctly. bah, buy this gun instead and i promise you will not be disappointed. Buds was great as always to deal with, great customer service and very prompt in shipping and keeping me updated on what was going on. One thing I will mention is that it is advertised with the heinie straight 8 sites, but according to the representative i spoke with, have been shipping only with the novak 3 dots for quite some time. Just so you know you probably will not get the heinies. The novaks are great sites and i was accurate with them, but just in case some of you are really wanting the heinie's it may be a good idea to call first and inquire if they have any of those available to be shipped.

OUTSTANDING GUN! Really impressed with the quality and accuracy. For less than half of the price of a high end 1911 you get it all and I am comparing with my Kimber Aegis II. FOR SURE the best value!!!
