After 150 rounds at my local indoor range, I have to say I love my new full size Beretta PX4 Storm Type F in 9mm! The weapon itself is flawless and shoots like a dream. I shot the 9 and 10 rings completely out of my targets at 10 yards. (This is my first pistol and I haven't shot any weapons in 10 years.)
The rough DA trigger I've read about was not a factor to me, as I shot exactly one round in DA, the first. All the other 149 rounds were in SA mode. The SA trigger is crisp and clean.
The safety/decocker is all the safety anyone could want. I have no fear of accidental discharge with the firing pin blocked and the trigger disengaged.
The changeable back strap on the grips are a nice feature, but medium was perfect for me; there was no need to change it. I may get some Talon Grips for outdoor usage in warm weather. I really didn't have a grip problem in an indoor setting; the checkering by itself is sufficient.
The magazines are nicely made and pop out quickly when the magazine release is pushed. I wish they gave you 3 mags, but they are fairly priced and I'll be getting more.
The "speed loader" isn't speedy, but is way better than trying to push 17 rounds into the mag with my thumbs. I don't think I could get 5 rounds into the mags without it.
The case it came in, however, is almost completely useless. It would sell for two bucks on Amazon; that said, it's only a shipping box. This pistol will be in a safe, a range bag or a holster and never see the case again.
All in all, the PX4 was a great buy at $399! THANK YOU Bud's!
