I got a "deal alert" from a buddy and made an offer on this pistol. The bid was accepted and I was able to buy this amazing weapon for far less than I would have ever imagined possible. The transaction was actually faster than advertised--my e-check was processed in only four business days and the pistol was at my FFL two days later. Great service--I'd definitely do business with Bud's again.
The pistol arrived almost completely dry and, more surprisingly, with no spent case. It seemed unfired by the factory. (No powder residue anywhere, no brass on the breech face, and the barrel was spotlessly clean.) Kinda strange.
The shape and angle of the grip feels great. The grip surface is sufficiently textured, the Bruniton coated slide looks awesome, and the overall fit and finish is top notch. The slide fits tight on the frame, the barrel is tight in the slide, and tool marks are nearly nonexistant. All of the controls operate smoothly. I'm highly impressed just holding it.
Finally took it to the range this evening, added 4-5 drops of oil, and put 200 Rem UMPs and a couple of Gold Dot 124g +p down range FLAWLESSLY. As advertised, POI is dead in the middle of the front dot. I do prefer a 6 o'clock hold, but I can adapt. The rotating barrel really does reduce perceived recoil. Softest shooting 9mm pistol I've ever fired, hands down. All of my other guns are striker fired, so I'm no trigger connoisseur BUT I think the trigger is excellent. DA is long and heavy but smooth, SA has ZERO creep and breaks like glass. As expected, the chrome lined barrel cleaned up with minimal effort.
To sum up: Smooth transaction, fast shipping, superb craftsmanship, excellent design, and a real pleasure to shoot. I think that if more people could get past the unique appearance of this pistol and fire a few rounds, Beretta would not be able to keep up with the demand for them. It really is that good.
