Shooting this gun is one of the funniest things I've ever done. Awesome gun and Bud's is the spot for great deals.

I want to preface this review saying that I absolutely love this shotgun. While I haven’t fired it yet, I can tell that this shotgun is well made. Stiff out of the box. Buds was fast with shipping so I want to give them 5 stars. The reason for the 4 stars is that the gun has some minor flaws. As you can see in the photos, the two hammers are slightly offset. This has the right hammer striking the firing pin well left of center, which came with an obvious divot in the hammer. The left hammer has a divot as well, but more centered. The color case hardening is actually pretty poorly done compared to some of my cheaper cowboy action firearms. I don’t know if Huglu’s/CZ QC has gone downhill in the past year, but the pattern is random and not very noticeable. It almost seems washed out. At first glance, it’s hard to tell that it has even gotten the acid color. The butt of the shotgun actually is way better in terms of color compared to the receiver. The receiver also has minor scratching on both sides (included in the photo). Overall though, these are nitpicking flaws. But flaws not the less. The included case is great. Can’t wait to actually get it to the range.

BEAUTIFUL SIDE BY SIDE! Original hammer design brought me back to the old west! Love it!

I had my eye on this gun for a long time, & let me boast it was worth every penny. Outstanding quality! In my opinion, it is the best "coach gun" on the market. The hammers are real and functional. The quality of the wood, blued finish on the barrels, & color case harden look on the receiver is top notch. It has two triggers, one per barrel. One thing I noticed with mine, initially the triggers were noticeably heavy, and the gun was really stiff when loading or taking apart. However shooting and cleaning has loosened both up quite nice. One warning, she is a thumper with the steel butt plate and buckshot. But that should be expected. If you're soft like me, use a rubber recoil pad to make it more fun. It gives you that "gun of the west" feeling and among my favorite fun guns to shoot.

Beautiful made gun...The wood is fantastic and the blueing on the barrels are perfect..the case hardening of the receiver is very nice and deep....just love the Hammers....Buds was fantastic and shipping was fast....a great buy!

Really cool gun. Does not have a big purpose but is really good looking! Exposed hammers look great. This gun tells the story of why people say shotgun when jumping into a car. My kids had no clue. It will be a decoration in my office because it hurst a little to shoot! It kicks hard!

The hammer coach is a very cool, unique shotgun. I bought the hammer classic and loved hunting and shooting with it so much I bought this one for the western feel. It’s more for shooting close range targets for fun or home defense if you wanna do it like the 1800s.

Absolutely beautiful side-by-side shotgun. The wood is flawless. The metal is beautiful and really nice engraving. The action is super tight. Well balanced. Glad I went with he CZ.

I received my hammer coach from Bud's within a reasonable time frame, well packaged, and undamaged. It is a very acceptable hammer coach for the price but the finish and general quality is less than my earlier manufactured Huglu shotguns. In summary, 5 stars for Bud's, but 4 stars for CZ-USA.

This is a looker. I have wanted a coach gun for a long time. When I got serious about buying one, I started looking at various versions.
This one from CZ seemed to be one of the best. I have to agree, it looks great, and I couldn't be happier. The entire experience with getting the coach gun from Bud's to my local FFL was painless. I'm a happy customer.

This gun is top notch on everything. On quality, on finish, and it packs a punch. It is beautiful all together. It has got case hardened receiver, but plate, trigger guard, forearm latch. And it reminds you of Damascus hardening (point blank beautiful) and kicks like a mule.

Beautiful Hammered Coach Gun! I was going back & forth between the CZ and Cimarron model for several months. Yes, the CZ is more expensive, but I assure you, it's well worth the cost. The fit & finish is tight, details like engraving, color case hardening & screws aligned make the CZ a pleasure to look at and hold. Firing full load police 00 buck rounds is a bit kicky, but it is a 20" coach gun. The double triggers both have a smooth pull, although the right trigger is about 1lb heavier than the left (10.8 lb vs 9.25 lb). This is my first hammered coach gun, so I don't know if this is normal or not. Either way it's not a problem for me. If you're looking for a hammered coach gun that's beautiful as well as functional, then the CZ Hammered Coach Gun is for you. Again, well worth the cost, and I am very pleased with my choice, not one regret. Well done CZ and Thanx again Bud's ! ! !

Relatives actually rode "shotgun" on a stagecoach. This was purchased in remembrance of them. Will be used for display and occasionally for fun.
I am a trap shooter- but don't think a 20" barrel will be good for trap.
This is a great looking sxs and i plan on using it long and hard but it will be the only gun to hand on the walls of my home

This shotgun is a thing of beauty. It's seriously the prettiest gun I own. It's extremely well-made, feels very solid. The checkering on the walnut and the engraving on the case hardened steel are both flawless. It's a little stiff to open and close right now, but it's brand new and it'll limber up over time. A little pricey, but 100% worth every penny. Thank you Buds.

Pretty nice for the money. The build quality seems pretty solid. This is middle of the road territory on side by side shotguns. The chemical case coloring is very nice, the engraving really looks great. I do have a few nitpicks.
The buttplate screws are plain jane phillips head wood screws.
The muzzles are chopped abd unfinished.
The black chrome on the barrels is pretty flat, looks almost like a semi gloss cerakote.
The wood could be nicer.
But honestly, this is the nicest side by side for anywhere close to a sane price. I'm happy with it, But I do feel like it could be a little bit nicer for the money.

Bud's Gunshop is a simple, misleading name for a first rate, highly competent gun company. Regarding the shotgun I bought, my interaction with the staff, and later electronic communication was far more professional, and timely, than experiences with so-called high tech companies such as AT&T, Microsoft etc. A pure pleasure to work with. Highest recommendation.
