Bought it two weeks ago, put over 5000 rounds through it and got it dirty as can be... and I didn't have one issue. Great gun.

So far so good. The AccuTool used to adjust the trigger was not sent with the rifle cut a quick call to the factory took care of that. Some rifles are shipped with the tool and some are not. But Savage sent me one free of charge. The rifle is very ammo sensitive, but it is still new. I fired 6 different brands of bullets and the MKII FV seemed to prefer Yellow Jackets.. Out of the box performance was not as good as I expected but I take part of the credit for the loust groups. Best was 1 1/4 at 50 yards, no breaking in, no cleaning between shots. So far it qualifies as a squirrel gun and that is what I got it for. When I get it broke in and find the right amo, I will use it for serious target shooting. The 5 shot clip supplied with the rifle was a disappointment. I loaded 5 rounds but only 4 would feed. I never did get the fth shell to feed. I switched to a 10 shot clip and all rounds fed and fired. No misfires. I like it but I don't love it yet.

This is supposed to be one of the most accurate guns for the money, but I haven't been able to experience it yet. I received the rifle and cleaned it up. The dimples where the serial number is stamped in has rust in it that I still haven't been able to get out. I took it out with several boxes of ammo to start weeding out the good from the bad. I bought this for 100 yard prone shooting, so accuracy is what I was looking for. None of the ammo seemed to group well. After careful inspection, I found that the crown was not cut properly and had a 45 degree bevel cut about 1/3 of the way around it. UPS is picking it up tomorrow to take back to Savage for repair. As for the rest of the gun, the synthetic stock is pretty sad. About what I expected, but still sad. It felt as if I were shooting a youth model. On the bright side, customer service was very accommodating with getting this taken care of for me. My Boyd's RVT stock will be in Thursday...just after UPS picks up the gun. Hopefully, Savage will turn the repair quickly and I will be able to try it out properly. I'm expecting an excellent gun when it is returned and may try to update the review afterwards. Until then, I am a new Savage owner who is out of a gun. If you are considering getting one with the intent to add a Boyd's stock later, I would encourage you to consider the BV models. After all is said and done, you will have spent about the same amount of money for the same basic gun.

i bought this rifle to teach my son how to shoot he loves it. for the money it is unmatched ive put about 600 rounds through it and getting 1.5" groupings at 70 yards time and time again considering you use the right ammo i usually use cci mini mag. as ive read everywhere with this gun the action was a little stiff but it loosened within 100 to 150 rounds and i oiled it aswell. the only other thing that could be changed is the saftey lever. it is a little stiff and some times gets flipped on when chambering a round but it is not really a big deal. all in all i am very happy with the service provided by buds and the gun from savage definitly suggest this gun for any one on the fence between this and a marlin or equaul

Stock is so-so in my opinion.Everything else is excellent.Shot off the bench and this firearm is very accurate to say the least.I fitted it with a 4x32 Nimon rimfire scope. For the price this firearm is hard to beat.

Awesome target shooter, couldn't be happier! Mounted a Nikon 3x9x40 and drives tacks all day every day. The only thing that I see that could be improved is the safety lever, it's pretty tight, but really no biggie. * * * * *
