Oh, dear! I never expected a lemon from Smith and Wesson, but this was terrible out off the box. I didn\'t know S&W ever shipped bad products, but I got one. In their defense, S&W customer service was as nice as could be on Internet chat, sent me a label for free shipping back to them for repair, and their gunsmiths fixed the problem. After repair, where they replaced the cylinder and firing pin, the revolver is very good. Note: FedEx of course requires an adult signature for firearms and will not schedule shipping with firearms, not even if you have the app and offer to pay, so I had to drive to the FedEx depot to pick it up in the evening, four weeks after my original purchase. Before repair, the cylinder would not always rotate when pulling the trigger. Even if the cylinder rotated, the firing pin often left a smaller than normal dimple on the brass but only went \"click\", not \"bang\". Before repair, in several hundred pulls of the trigger, I fired 120 rounds. Cheap ammo and nice ammo were the same - failures to fire even on those attempts where the cylinder appeared to rotate the correct distance. After repair, it fired a box of 555 cheap rounds with one failure to fire - comparable to other revolvers and probably attributable to the ammo and not the S&W. Enough with the criticism. I haven\'t gotten over my annoyance and distrust, but that\'s just a personal bias that should fade. This is a good small-frame revolver and is fun to shoot. It\'s accurate. It\'s comfortable. I like the trigger. I liked the grip but still replaced it with a CTC. S&W backed their product when needed, and that\'s good to know. Buds was, of course, perfect. S&W? Minus one star because of the inconvenience.

Bought this S&W model 317 Air Lite Kit 22 for my wife who is a lefty, This small pistol is lighter then you can believe, 11.5 ounces unloaded. Great service from Buds again. This little pistol is super accurate, but the trigger pull is 10 pounds, double action? Way to heavy IMHO. My wife liked it but could not shoot it double action, She a lefty with a bad wrist. She was deadly at 7 yards and 14 using single action. She loves it.

Buds is great to deal with!!!! This little guy is a keeper! Light, accurate and smooth. Hides in your back pack or carries on the trap line with out a thought until needed. Everyone that shoots it loves it. Quality build and innovative without sacrificing quality. Yes the finish is somewhat fragile but that does not hurt the performance of the gun. Get a custom finish somewhere down the road.

First of all purchased this gun through buds 90 day layaway program. After final payment got the goods in 4 days. Gun came flawless from the factory. Gun is light and with the 3" barrel easy to carry. I shot 300 rds of CCI copper plated round nose and had no problems with extraction of empties or insertion of new rounds as it is common with 22LR revolvers. In fact I was surprise. The only thing I did not like is the V notch rear sight but will be changing it for a square one. The gun is as accurate as I need it to be. I was hitting clay birds at 15yds all day long.

The gun is extremely light and can be shot by anyone. The accuracy is not all that great due to the sights. This is not a range gun. The cylinder is made of alloy and it heats up making it difficult to extract the spent cartridges. This is a great gun to carry while hiking or camping. DA/SA trigger pull is typical to other S&W revolvers. I would have given it 5 stars if it was not for the cylinder heating up and making it hard to extract the spent cartridges. Other wise it's a fine gun, it's just not made for range shooting.
