The SW 442 is one of many lightweight revolver that has accompanied police officers on patrol for decades. I have owned the 442 in the past and decided to purchase another after having sold my previous model. They are a great gun for concealed carry and light enough to carry comfortably in shorts or light clothing. I would recommend this model to anyone who needs to carry or would like to have a small revolver with a great reputation close at hand.

I purchased the S&W 442 for use in a pistol class in NC geared torwards women. Ordered on Monday was at the range on Thursday! No problems whatsoever (once I remembered the difference in UPS and USPS, MY BAD). The fit and finish was excellent and the pistol was as advertised. If you decide to purchase this pistol I recomend Bud's for price and service. When you get the pistol and first try the trigger pull DON'T go crazy. YES, it is bad. Before you go and buy a spring kit try and dry-fire( with caps or empty cases ofc) the 38 several thousand times. I did say thousands, you will be amazed at the difference. The trigger smooths out and becomes much more manageable. There is a reason that the "j" frame Smith hasn't changed (Except for the STUPID side lock)for @ 100 years. When it comes to power, concealability, and shootabilty this weapon platform is hard to beat. I grabbed and old holster and am thinking of carring this pistol when I am just running out the door. Great gun.

Great pocket gun. One of my carry guns. It rides very comfotably in a pocket holster. I will grant that the trigger isn't as nice as an LCR, but this just "felt" better. I have carried this weapon for nearly a year now and shoot it at least 2X a month. I have yet to have any issues. an overall excellent carry pistol.

This is a kick butt gun. If you a like small, light weight, all metal weapon that packs a lot of fire power with not that much recoil, this is a great choice. Because it's a revolver, it didn't require any break in. Have run about 300 rounds through it and it shoots where you aim it. It's quite accurate to 30 feet out. The gun fits well in a pocket holster, but could be used in any holster for that matter. Carried as a back up in a ankle holster to a smaller 380 in a pocket is ideal. This guns works well for home protection or conceal carry. Loading this gun with person protection ammo (speers gold dot 135gr) really gives this weapon respect. Obviously with it's short barrel and light weight there is more recoil, but not overwellming-very easy to come back on target. It's a great gun for a reasonable price. As usual, Buds gives great service and good prices.

This has been my first experience with Buds, and I must say that I am very satisfied with the whole process of buying a firearm online with them. The process was very straightforward, and they did a great job of notifying by email throughout the whole process. Placed the order Monday afternoon, and it arrived at my FFL by noon on Thursday. The 442 arrived, and it looks great! I am excited to put some rounds through over the weekend to test it out, but being the owner of 2 other S&W revolvers (638 and 686), I know that I will be pleased with my purchase. This is going to take its place as a front pocket, summer carry gun.
