I recently purchased this revolver for my profession. I've fired close to three hundred rounds from it already and have had this gun less than a month. I am fully confidant with this weapon and will be qualifying with it this week to carry on duty. This is an excellent back up to my duty weapon and the style is made for close quarter encounters.

I haven't had much luck with newer (90's and newer) Smith and Wesson. I was hoping this would change all that. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I'll start with the positive aspects of the firearm: This gun is reasonably priced. Very Light Weight. Easy to Conceal. Doesn't have a hammer to get caught up on something while drawing it from concealment. It's black (as I believe all concealed carry guns should be). As for the negative: After firing just over 50 rounds, It got harder and harder for the cylinder to turn. I thought it was the ammunition I was using. So I thoroughly cleaned the firearm and went back to the range with another brand of ammo. Same issue. As I was shooting it I could tell the cylinder was getting harder and harder to turn. I've got another (non smith&wesson) firearm and shot the same ammo that the smith was having problems with without any problems. What puzzles me is everyone else was very positive in there reviews... so I don't know if I just got a lemon or maybe the S&W's just don't like me. Tom

This revolver is great. The 38 ammo doesn't jump too much for the small frame. And it's SO easy to conceal!

Great little revolver. This gun was purchased primarily for concealed carry. Works great in my Fobus ankle holster, Bianchi ITWB holster, or my Desantis pocket holster. This is a pefect little handgun for concealed carry or backup. Expect a little kick from the +P rounds, but nothing worse than usual. This probably isn't the first choice for a target shooter, but great as a carry weapon. A+

I have a concealed carry permit but also have a bad back. I have tried carrying the auto pistols in holsters but the weight always had my back aching at the end of the day. A friend told me about the Model 442 and I bought one last week, So far, I can carry this little powerhouse in the front pocket of my jeans or slacks and not hardly know it is there. I shot it and I must say that it is very accurate at distances from 7 to 15 feet and with the propensity to carry +p 38 spl. I can feel confident with it. I highly recommend this pistol and Bud's has the best prices that I have seen anywhere.
