Awesome gun very nice might have to get a couple more in different calibers. I must say I have bought many guns over the years from Buds and they have always been super fast and I was disappointed in the delivery time on this one way to long in my opinion Thought it might of been a fluke and ordered another gun 6 days ago and the status is still processing? Disappointed in a company who as always be great? What is going on at Buds?

Absolutely beautiful rifle with fine craftsmanship evident throughout. Arrived with small nick on buttplat, obviously shipping damage. I notified the folks at Henry Arms, told them no big deal and I could probably buff it out. They insisted on sending the entire butt stock assembly to make sure I was happy. Noe THAT is customer service! Shoots beautifully, smooth as butter. Don't be afraid of the higher caliber models... the BigBoy models are heavy / stout with next to no felt recoil. Looking forward to buying another one some day. Worth the extra cost... a great value.

I have wanted a Henry rifle ever since the first time I saw one, and even more so after I held it. I finally purchased one when Buds got the .357 Magnum Henry Big Boy in stock. I waited anxiously and it arrived today at my local FFL. I inspected it and it is everything I expected. It is packaged in the box, wrapped with moisture absorbing paper, and has a protective cloth sleeve covering the brass to prevent scratches. After checking to see that it was not loaded, I looked at the walnut stock. It is one of the nicest pieces of walnut that I have seen on a gun... dark, figured, smooth, and scratch free. It is a hefty gun, very solid, with a smooth action. The brass is polished to a shine. The octagon barrel is evenly blued. The loading tube is tight, but not too tight... it is just perfect and does not rattle around. After getting it home it was getting late, but there was just enough light to take a few shots into my target berm. I loaded up four .38 Special cartridges, worked the action and chambered a round, and pulled the trigger. I did not note the feel of the trigger, but it certainly did not feel bad. The rifle gave a small report and a tiny kick (about the same as a .22, due to the mass of the gun). I paused then fed in another round... it chambered smoothly. I fired the remaining three shots quickly without lowering the rifle. All three fired flawlessly. I did not check accuracy, but I expect that it will outshoot my poor eyes. To summarize: this rifle is beautiful, it is entirely made in the USA, and it functions perfectly. This is everything I expected from my first Henry!

When I first saw this on the website, it was out of stock, then apparently Buds got 30 in and they were gone in 10 days. Mine arrived in under 5 days at my FFL and when I checked the manufacture date, it was only 10 days old! Henry always test fires their rifles before shipping - mine needed a couple of patches run down the barrel but no harm no foul. You do need to know that tubular magazines don't like .357 wad cutter or semi wad cutter rounds. The manufacturer also warns about using aluminum casings which I verified with CCI Blazer. Blazer aluminum stacked in tubes under recoil can experience bullet set-back which can result in higher pressure, "which is never a good thing" according to Austin at CCI/Speer. That said, this is a terrific rifle. The plus for me is that I can use most of my existing stock of .357 magnum / .38 special and reserve the other stuff for my revolver. RNL, SJSP, SJHP, XTP, etc. The action is smooth and reliable. The balance is perfect and one fan is working on a speedloader. I would suspect that you could just buy a couple of extra magazines if you expect to be in a hurry. If 10+1 won't do the job, you're in over your head. This is great product and a great price.
