This pistol is AMAZING for the money. Took it to the range today, so accurate. Looks great. Slide feels awesome. For a budget 1911 I am extremely satisfied. Good job Taurus.

great 45. first trip to shoot i had a ftf and a fte with xtp hp 200gr bullets.. all rest fired ok..went home polished feedramp and bbl and added .5 grain more unique and pistol then hammered 5 different reloads. very easy to maintain and load for now. the initial problems i blame on being a little light on powder...i always to try to stay in the middle/low power rangefor plinking...accuracy is very good. i have been making small rocks out of large rocks where i shoot...i would recommend polishing the feed ramp. watch youtube then get 1000 grit 3m wet/dry sand paper and jewelers rouge. finished with dremel cloth wheel. took about 20 minutes. i now have 3 lifetimes of jewelers rouge. dont hesitate to buy this gun for any reason...quality build...it does come covered in cosmoline..get some carburator spray cleaner and it comes right off...then oil well...

Great weapon. This is my second pistol, and first 1911. I did a decent amount of research before deciding on this one. The features for the price were just too good to pass up. Received at my FFL in 4 days, Taurus ships the gun in a nice hard plastic case, well secured in foam. It includes a second 8 round magazine. My dealer wiped off the grease that was all over it in the plastic shipping bag, but I still broke it down and did a more thorough job once I got it home. It's a good looking weapon once cleaned up. I took it to the range on the second day and ran 100 rounds through it. I had a couple of FTE in the first 50, but I attribute them to the new magazines needing break-in, and my learning how to best hold the gun. By the second box I was getting decent groups, and I fully expect to get better with practice. I have already ordered a set of Hogue rubberized grips with finger grooves as I prefer a larger grip, but that's a personal preference. Once I have another 500 or so rounds downrange I'll update the review, but initially I'm very pleased.

This was my second purchase from Buds, and as before shipping was super fast and smooth. Thanks Buds! As for the product, it's exactly as you've read on Buds and Taurus' websites. It comes complete with hard case and accessories, and it's really a great 1911, price considered. I was new to the 1911 market and wanted something with a lot of bang for the buck, and this Taurus fit the bill. It has all the greatest features of 1911's that cost triple the amount, so it's perfect for someone wanting something better than a GI model, but not super expensive. All the features are really exception on this weapon, and all my rail accessories fit it, which is nice. It uses standard 1911 mags, so that's good. The "negatives" I have are to be expected with a weapon at this price range. The first is the fitment, it's not as tight as an STI or Wilson Combat, but keep in mind it's price point. I'll attribute the second ding to the first, and that's the pistols accuracy. For me, it shot good enough, but I tend to shoot at about 10 yards. I took it out to around 17 yards and things started opening up a bit. Like I said, considering the price point, it's an amazing value. I've run about 200 rounds through it and no problems, so I'm quite happy. One last thing, I HATE the stupid extra safety Taurus puts on their weapons, I just leave it off, and if it is too much to bear, you'll just have to swap the hammer.
