The Kahr MK9 is one of several guns I purchased from Bud's over the past two years and the service and shipping was, as usual, super and fast. The MK9 is my second Kahr pistol. I had such a great experience with the first Kahr, I decided to also purchase the MK9 (see my extensive review of the PM9 on this website). The MK9 I received was beautifully finished inside and out, just like my PM9. I decided to install a set of Kahr's checkered wood grips on the pistol and that really dressed it up and made it feel even better in the hand. I took the gun to my local range, prepared to break it in with 300 rounds, as I had done with my PM9. Unfortunately, my day ended after firing only 5 rounds. THIS WAS NO FAULT OF THE PISTOL. I was shooting high quality U.S. made factory loads and, for the first time in 60+ years of shooting, experienced a squib load. When it happened, I was in the middle of a rapid fire drill and touched off another round before my brain registered the squib load. The last shot fired and hit the bullet stuck in the barrel. The excessive pressure bulged the barrel and locked up the gun. Was I mad? Oh yeah! But, it's a testament to the Kahr's build quality that I still had all my fingers and other body parts and was not injured. I notified the manufacturer of a possible bad lot of ammo (for a possible recall), sent the rest of the box of ammo to them and they agreed to pay for the repairs. A Kahr gunsmith repaired my MK9 and returned it to me. I then made a second trip to the range to make sure the pistol was repaired correctly and to break it in. With my first Kahr (the PM9), I fired 300+ rounds the first time out, with zero malfunctions. With the MK9, shooting Blazer Brass 115gr. ammo in the first four mags, I experienced 3 failures to eject (stovepipes) and 2 failures to lock back the slide after the last round. After that, I fired Aquila 124 gr., Speer Lawman 124 gr. and a couple of other brands of 115 gr. ammo without incident. After firing 200+ rounds of that mixed ammo (which included three types of hollow point defensive loads) , I tried the Blazer Brass 115 gr. ammo again and fired 100 rounds of it with no malfunctions. I think the Blazer Brass ammo is loaded lighter than some of the other brands and just didn't have enough power to cycle the new tightly fitted pistol, until it was partially broken in. As with the PM9, the MK9 proved to be accurate (showing a preference for 124 gr. loads) and fast handling. The Aguila 124 gr. FMJ load gave almost target grade groups! I am definitely a Kahr convert!

Wow!! Have had this gun for a couple of months now, and it is a great little shooter! I decided on an all steel pistol over the polymer for my carry gun. A little heavier, but very easy to conceal, and very accurate. I like the Kahrs for their DAO, which lets me carry with a chambered round and not worry about a hammer and safety. Oh, and Bud's is great too!!

Absolutely AWESOME! Took it out and put 100 rounds through it with only 1 misfeed, Kahr says 200 rounds to "break it in". The 1 misfeed was a hollow point after putting 25 regular rounds, I put an additional 25 HP rounds through it with no problems. Bud's service and value are great. This is a very well manufactured firearm, our 3rd Kahr - Highly Recommend!

Great little pistol.l Very solid.feel. Functioned perfectly during the 200 round break in with a variety of ammo types from different manufacturers. Quite accurate for such a small pistol. If you're on the fence and they're available, pick one up. As for Buds, another great transaction.

Gun is awesome. Made me a believer in Kahr. I have Sigs, HK's, Berreta's, S&W's, Rugers, SA 1911 Operater, Colt Python, and a few others which have proved to be 100% reliable. In process of breaking in MK9 and it looks like the only way this gun will fail is if I don't load it. PS; Great job Bud's!! Will be ordering a K9 very soon. Just have to make more room in safe and hide combination from wife! Let her get her own guns.
