Great gun at a good price! Handles .38 target loads up to hot .357 loads with great accuracy. It's a keeper.

This is a great mid sized revolver. Very well made and feels substantial in the hand. I take mine along when deer hunting and also makes a reliable home defense choice. You won't be disappointed. Handles both the _57 rounds and .38spl without a problem. Enjoy.

Great revolver for the money. More meat in the forcing cone area than S&W K Frames of the past, and I have not read or heard of these kinds of failures with Tauruses. Should be good to go for years of use.

All and all its a good gun for the price. I am alittle disappointed with two things though. First the grips are alittle thin for my liking. And second there is no rear sight. The seven shot 357 has a sight but the six shot does not.

The fit and finish on this gun is absolutely flawless! All edges are well defined, seams clean, and markings clear and crisp! The satin finish is even over the entire gun, with the hammer, trigger, cylinder release getting a brighter polished look - not mirror, just brighter. The trigger is wide and smooth for DA shooting, and DA pull is CLEAN - smooth, without a hitch, not a hint of "gritty feel..." The hammer has an abbreviated, wide, checkered spur for easy SA cocking. SA let off is just a hair less "instant" than a Smith, but clean and smooth...a hint of movement. The cylinder latch operates perfectly...crane to frame fit is precise and makes use of a small wedge-shaped, spring-loaded detent mounted atop the crane to enhance forward lockup, with the rear following the S&W "pattern" albeit with a slight bit more extension of the center pin and stronger spring than was common "back in the day." The bore is clear and smooth, with cylinder accurate cylinder alignment. The only negative about this beautiful Taurus would be the rubber grips...a bit too "long" front-to-back they don't fit this hand comfortably. Considering the frame shape beneath the grips, this gun would be better served with a set of aftermarket or custom grips that fill in behind the trigger guard, but leave the back-strap open for a more rounded, wider contact to the palm. Certainly the OEM grips are good enough for duty use, just not ideal for my taste. It's very tempting to polish this thing out to a mirror finish and mount a set of well-figured wood grips. Smith and Wesson doesn't have anything over Taurus on this model.

After about 100 rounds thru this revolver, I love everything about it. The sight window though, was quite different from the Rugers I am used to. With a bit of careful filing and a base coat of white Testers enamel, followed by a coat of fluorescent orange, on the sight ramp, I now have a pistol that can put many in the 10 ring at 50 yards and the front sight is much more visible than the stock silver. The recoil is very manageable with magnum loads.
