Bought this one for a hiking/trail gun and a backup when hunting. It's accurate enough and smooth shooting. I primarily practice double action and it's a pretty smooth pull. Single action is fine but I don't use it a whole lot unless I'm working up a new load.

Love this gun. Recoil was more manageable than I expected. Other reviews I read prior to purchase led me to think I would dislike the ribbed grip but i actually do like the original grip. Even better than the Hogue monogrip I bought for it. Inside needed a squirt of oil but other than that it was great straight out of the box!

This gun is really fun to shoot and the finish is good. The only complaints that I have are the orange on the front sight is only a sticker and came off before I even got to shoot the gun. Come on Taurus, how much is a dab of paint? Also, the rear sight pin slides out very easily, just put a slight bend it in with a pair of pliers to remedy this. I did go ahead and change the grip to a Houge grip ($20) and it is worth every penny. Other than that, I think this will be one of my favorites to take out and shoot.

Great firearm - fired over 500 rounds through it, an assortment of .38S and 356 Magnums - no FTF. Not thrilled about the finish, nit picky thing, but great nonetheless.

Gun arrived to my FFL no problem. ACH transaction could have been faster. Subsequent ACH transactions have been though. At first inspection the Taurus 627 was as expected with the exception of wobble in the extraction rod when rotating the cylinder which was not pleasing to me. Compared to a GP100 or 686 (which have SOLID extraction rod motion) this is a cheap aspect of this firearm. The cylinder release is super loose and will have to be tightened out of the box as well. The stock grip is narrow and serviceable but I will not be keeping it. The 627 fires with slightly less recoil than other .357 models I shot but does not have significantly reduced recoil as expected. Noise factor is slightly louder than expected but reasonable. The factory sights are garbage and won\'t be keeping them on this gun. Had to put about 21 rounds through before I got the sights dialed. Now for the bad part: accessories. I purchased a gunmate cheapo holster and Hogue Monogrip; both were suggested by Bud\'s and were allegedly the correct fitment. When I tried the holster it was too small and the suggested Hogue grip is a size too small. Going to contact Bud\'s and hopefully they make it right. This is my first transaction with Bud\'s so we shall see. I will update the review after all issues are mitigated. Overall not super pleased with this transaction.

Great home protection item. It operated flawlessly at the range. Shot 50 rds., no problems at all. Very accurate.
