As usual, I had a great purchasing experience with BUDS...Got the rifle out of the box- beautiful wood and perfect fit and finish. Cleaned, oiled , scoped with a Leupold 4-12x40 and took to the range on the next day. I hand-load for my rifles so I measured the bullet jump and prepared a few loads... The 87gn. Hornady bullet holes touch at 200yds. with the right load. Haven't tried heavier bullets but looks like 85-90 grain is the bullet for that barrel....
If you read this you probably know why CZ's are such a great rifles. Right out of the box their are accurate and reliable. The CZ 550 American is not going to be made anymore so if this rifle is still for sale - buy one. You won't regret it.

I did a lot of research B4 going with CZ over Remington and others. The more I researched the better the CZ became. Picked a .243 simply because I like the Ballistics of the round. Could not be more pleased with the quality of the wood stock. Not the most important feature, but it ought to look good for the money as well I think. Most importantly, it is a consistant & straight shooting rifle. I have set it up with a Millett 6-25X scope. Also one of the very best scopes for half the price IMHO of many on the market. This setup has a long range accurate punch at 800 yds plus.
FYI, I've had a nice Remington 700 in a 30.06 caliber since the late 70's and it is an excellent weapon as well, but I don't think they compete with the CZ today.
