Purchased for conceal carry and is very accurate out of the box. Worth every penny. Only negative thing I have to say is that it is a bit chunky.

First off, the description is wrong. This is a single-action only handgun as pulling the trigger only drops the striker. The XD is a great package. It is extremely reliable without a break-in, and utilizes a Glock-type trigger safety, and a 1911-style grip safety, as well as loaded chamber and cocked striker indicators. The stainless edition is gorgeous, and plenty of aftermarket parts are available for the XDs. Recoil in 9mm is very manageable, although a bit harsher than a Glock 26 due to the shorter barrel and higher bore axis. I personally prefer a Glock to an XD, but that's based on personal preferences, not on functionality. Average sized hands will probably need the Pearce grip extension to get the pinky comfortably on the grip. The 16-round mag is great for range time, but not ideal for carry. The speedloader is crap and the holster is a joke, so if a speedloader is necessary grab an aftermarket one, and purchase a high quality IWB holster for concealed carry. I've used several IWB holsters and the Crossbreed Supertuck is by far my favorite. If you want a nice OWB holster, look at the Minotaur Gladiator at www.comp-tac.com. I had one for my XD when I owned it and it served me very well. In all, the XD is an excellent gun. Reliable, easily modified, and reasonably priced. I do, however, recommend that any potential buyer consider a Glock 26 as an alternative, and if possible, fire both before purchasing either. Also, unless you have a lot of experience with subcompact handguns, consider the 9mm over the .40S&W as muzzle flip can be unmanageable for quick, defensive shooting for the unexperienced shooter. If you're comfortable shooting a small .40 handgun, you should be fine. Otherwise, pick up the 9mm and don't look back.

I ordered this firearm in August and it has been a great concealed carry firearm. You will not go wrong with this firearm.
