Taking this Colt to the range was an honor to fire, made me feel a part of what my Dad carried in WW2, beautiful as only a Colt could be.

Beautiful piece - shoots great with cheap ball ammo at 25 yards, accurate and handy. If you\'re only ever going to own one 1911, do yourself a favor and get this one.

What a gun - more than satisfied. Fit and finish top notch. Cycles like a champ and accurate as hell. Very happy - this thing is nicer than my Series 70 from the 1980\'s. These are some of the best pistols Colt has put out in a long, long time. A

I'm a huge 1911 fan and this is not my first. I found it to be a fine salute to the original. The dark blued finish with brushed sides, along with the double-diamond wood grips makes for a handsome firearm. The three dot sights are a nice improvement over the original 1911A1 sights and yielded impressive accuracy, for my abilities, at least. The slide to frame fit, I found to be very good for a handgun in this price range. Trigger pull was just under 5 lbs on my Lyman, with a very crisp break. Every 1911 collection needs at least one Colt and this one is a pleasure.

Former military law enforcement and trained and carried the original 1911 when it was still being issued in the early 1980s. This Bud's Colt 1991 series (updated 1911 version) is a Government Model, but a lot better than the ones we were issued! Very fine weapon, at a good price. Some special service people still prefer this over the new pistols, and I see why.
