This is a basic, no-frills .38 snubnose. So far, I've put 100 rds of Fiocchi FMJ through it and 20 rds Federal .38 +P JHP and every one of them went "bang!" Being 16 oz you feel the +P stuff but it's not excruciatingly painful, You just notice a bit more recoil than the regular .38 load. The trigger was stiff but loosened a bit after firing two boxes of FMJ. I'll use some Snap-Caps while watching TV to work it a bit more. That should smooth out the DAO trigger some. I've a Charter Bulldog .44 Spl that I also carry and I like Charter revolvers. Functional, blue-collar piece, made in the USA and competitively priced. What's not to like about that? Buds was great service and the transfer agent, Kitchen's Guns in Ashland, KY, was quick and hassle-free, as always. Thank you Charter, Buds, and Larry Kitchen!

Very disappointed in the reliability. Bought mine November 2009. The transfer bar on mine broke twice just dry firing. Shot only regular .38 specials, maybe 100 rounds at most. Charter replaced it the second time it broke. Just picked up the replacement. Fifty (50) rounds later on the replacement, and the transfer bar snapped off again. Charter swears they're not having problems with their transfer bar. Well, after 3 breakages over two guns, I'd say that there were problems with the two I've had. Stay away from Charter Arms Undercover .38

I'm very impressed with this little puppy. I had a S&W years ago and I think CA is ever bit as good. The only problem is that my wife wants it! I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a reliable weapon.
