Great firearm for the price. Charter Arms have been around since the late 70's early 80's. They have had their share of up's and downs...they are on a major up! Quality is good, size is compact, and accuracy great, and dealing with Buds is always a pleasure.

Fit and finish are good. The gun is comfortable to shoot. The trigger pull is great. Double action pull comes in at about 10 lbs. All others are usually too high for my pull gauge to read. I did get a few light primer strikes which fired on the second try. Like the last one I had this one shoots low. All in all a great revolver for the price.

Bud's got my Bulldog in just a couple of days. Fast service. I got 30 minutes free range time with the gun so I put it to use. Using Hornady 180 grain and 165 grain loads the accuracy was excellent at 7 and 10 yards. The lighter grain load shot about an inch lower than the other. The Bulldog has bark and bite. I have already put a set of Pachmeyer compact grips on it and they made a great gun even better. This gun will be my carry gun on my backpacking trips and trail runs from now on. The gun functions flawlessly and has become my favorite handgun and I have quite a few of several different makes and some were considerably more expensive too. Charter Arms and Bud's got it right on this one. Definitely 5 stars!

This is my first revolver from Charter Arms. Would like a tighter fit on the crane at the cylinder, but due to the design, there isn't a lot of steel there. It handles the 44 Spl round with comfort though it consistently hit 5" or so low at 15 feet. Accuracy is decent, and I think the trigger is good for any price. If you are looking for a compact revolver with more whallop than a 38 Spl and more controllability than 357 snubs, this is a great choice.

Buds service is 5 star excellent. The Charter Bulldog is really nice but the finish on the end of the barrel is pitted. The rest of the revolver is fine. At this price point and considering this is a working revolver as opposed to a safe queen, I'll take a star for the rough spot on the barrel and go enjoy it. Had I inspected this in a store or gunshow, I might have passed. Then again, I would have almost certainly paid more. If this Bulldog lives up to it's service expectation, then perhaps it will earn back half a star in the future. Time will tell. I will be purchasing from Buds again.
