The mag pug handles nice and feels good in the hand. Put 50 rounds through without any problems. I thought the finish looked great. I saw no defects or finish marks and the fit looked good to me also. Looking forward to many good times with this firearm and feel I can rely on it if needed.

it feels good in the hand, but the functions are not as smooth as id like The cylinder release can be finicky at times Pros: made in USA and ported Cons: presents unfinished and functions are not smooth for the price I prefer my 605

When the revolver got to me I noticed the barrel seemed to be screwed into the frame slightly more than needed. This caused the front sight to be canted very slightly to the left. I carefully checked the double action and it seemed to be working well. The amount of trigger pull needed to cycle the cylinder seemed reasonable. In single action the trigger pull was acceptable. I decided to make adjustments myself to correct the sight problem rather than send it back to the factory. I widened the rear sight on the right side to correct for the front sight not being centered. That way I was able to get perfect windage. I also had to file the front sight to about 60% of it's original hight to correct for low elevation. I cut and filed about 3/16" off the hammer, and carefully rounded the edges to keep it from hanging up on my pocket. I can still easily cock the hammer. Now I can comfortably carry it when wearing loose fitting trousers. I like the way it shoots using moderate .357 loads with 158 grain projectiles. After plenty of practice, I'm able to get 4 inch groups at 7 yards free holding with both hands and shooting double action rapidly. I am happy with the revolver.

Really happy with this snub nose. It's exactly what you'd hope and expect from a 357: solid, reliable, consistent. Has a satisfying boom and awesome that it shoots both 357 and 38 special rounds.

I sold this and bought a Taurus instead because there were just too many things that I didn't like. For one thing, when shooting 357 ammo I would get powder blowing back onto my face which is either because of excessive cylinder gap or from the drilled holes which supposed to be a muzzle brake. It also shot about 6 inches low so I cut down the front sight as far as I dared. Almost removing 1/2 the height and it still shot a few inches low. The machining was really crude as when looking down on the top-strap sight groove it was shifted off to the left. Other than that it shot OK and was accurate enough. 38spl ammo did not blow powder back into my face and would recommend if this was all that you were to shoot but the occasional 357. It functioned good and I almost kept it because it really wasn't all that bad for such an inexpensive USA made revolver.

Love this gun. The ported barrel helps keep the recoil way down. Great grips. Good design Charter Arms !!!

Had this gun years ago and sold it. Big mistake! I never had been able to find another one until I looked at my favorite gun dealers at Bud's. I jumped on it immediately and will never part with it again. Its a well balanced and powerful snubby with features that higher priced revolvers don't have like ports in the barrel. The trigger is good too, especially in single action. This is a flat framed gun with an excellent grip and I thank Bud's for hooking me back up with the old Mag Pug.

Don't use TUL Rounds when I purchase this firearm I also purchased a box Federal 38 Special had no issues at the range with them and purchased a box of 357 tul rounds first five shots all the shells were stuck in the revolver cannot get them out some more of the story do not use cheap ammunition or at least steel casings in this firearm. otherwise love this gun highly recommend

As always.......shipping was fast. Real fast. Next day fast. The mag pug is not beautiful
But it does its job. Its a handful with full power 357
rounds but manageable. 300 rounds down the pipe
And not a single issue. Thanks Charter arms and
Thank you to Buds Gun Shop for great service and awesome prices.

Great service by Buds! I placed my order online and texted my FFL to let him know an order from Buds was incoming. I thought it was going to take a week or more. To my suprise he texted me a couple of days later saying my Charter Arms Mag Pug had arrived. WOW! Now that's what I call service! I have wanted to get a Charter Arms revolver for a while now. They used to have a bit of a bad reputation for poor quality. Well I will tell you, this 357 Mad Pug is a quality revolver! When I went to my FFL to do the paperwork another guy was there that just bought a Ruger LCR 38 Special. I let him handle the Mag Pug and I could tell he wished he would have bought it instead of the LCR. It is such a solid snubbie revolver. It weighs about 22oz. I picked up a cheap OWB holster for it and carry it crossdraw. It is so comfortable to carry like that. I'm serious. You almost forget it is there. I finally got a chance to take it to the range this weekend. I loaded up about 80 38 Specials with 2 different bullet weights (125gr and 158gr) and 4 different powders. I shot it single action , cocking the hammer each shot, from about 15ft taking about 1 second in between each shot. My goal was to find the most accurate load. With a standard 38 Special load of Bullseye powder and a 158gr cast SWC bullet I put 5 rounds in a 1 inch group. More than good enough for self defense with a 2 inch barreled snubbie. Recoil was not bad at all, although I could tell it had some punch. I plan to practice double action with that load. Just for fun I put a cylinder of 357 Magnum reloads through it. These were lower end handloads using a cast 158gr SWC and 2400 powder. It was awesome! It had some major punch! Recoil was substantially more than the 38 Specials, but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I will be making a defensive load using 357 Magnum ammo in the future, but for right now, 38 Specials will work just fine. I will be shooting them about 98% of the time. I ordered a Crimson Trace Laser Grip for the Mag Pug. The sights are kind of hard to see for some of us with less than perfect eyes. Not only that, different loads and different bullet weights have different points of impact. With fixed sights there is nothing that can be done about that other than compensate for it by changing your aim point. With the crimson Trace grip, at least you will be able to adjust your aiming point. All in all I love this sweet revolver! Made in the USA! A very well made solid revolver. A real value for the money! Don't believe to the haters out there. Get one of these. You will be glad you did!

A very "dry" and "crunchy" feeling mechanism, even when well lubed. I've NEVER had a revolver jamb! I didn't think it was possible! I parted with this gun not long after purchasing. This is NOT a quality piece. Ended up spending a little more for a Smith and Wesson in .38 Special. No more Charter Arms. Maybe an older one, if at all.

This is an excellent shooter and a fantastic CCW. I carry it often. It handles full power load 357 Magnums well and the porting greatly reduces recoil. I highly recommend this gun for anyone as a carry weapon.

Decent handgun that has a few rough spots that I had to clean up. Mine also needed a good cleaning. Lightweight.

This is my second Charter Arms 357 Mag/.38 SPL snubnose revolver, and, I must say, I'm disappointed in this one! I took it to the range yesterday (10/12/18), and, many times the hammer would not release when the trigger was pulled. I am a retired Army Special Forces operator and have been trained in every firearm in the Army's inventory, as well as those of our enemies and allies. I also own other revolvers. I had a gunsmith look at it at the range, and he recommended I send it back to Bud's and get a different firearm (revolver.)

This weapon is excellent. Bought this for my girlfriend to use as a home defense gun when I’m out working nights. It is heavy enough that 38 special doesn’t recoil very much, and it is super easy to operate, as any revolver is. Finish looks great, and the trigger is shockingly smooth. Can’t beat the price
