Love this pistol! Very nice grip and love it appearance. Grip and the look of the pistol are my first two priorities.

I picked up the Springfield XD MOD.2™ 5″ Tactical Model in 9mm to head down the slippery path of action shooting. The XD Mod.2 Tactical felt very similar in the hand as my XDs so seemed a logical choice. After a couple weeks of range days this pistol has performed flawlessly. Only I could want might be a 20 round magazine.

Great gun overall i love the feel as well as the recoil allot very easy followup shots competition ready i put this up against my buddies glock 17 and lets just say he wanted to trade

Fantastic handgun of it's kind for the price. Buds, as everyone else will tell you, are always perfect 10's in keeping you in the loop.

This 5" Springfield Armory 9mm pistol has proven to be dependable and accurate. This pistol is very well balanced and the grips fit me 100%. My best groups have come from Remington UMC, 115 grain ammunition. The only thing I would improve on this pistol is the trigger. It is somewhat gritty now, but I only have a few hundred rounds through the gun. I am hoping the trigger smooths out as the pistol is fired more and is broken in. Overall, given the cost of the pistol, I am very pleased with it. DW.

Accurate. While no handgun is a tack driver, it will obliterate the 10 ring at 7 yds. I averaged 2 in group with a couple flyers, standing, two hand hold.
Mod2 sights are easy to pick up
Trigger moves about 1/4 inch after take up. Take up is weightless but from there to the break, it drags [most noticeably during dry fire with snap caps]

Grip. I am a fan. That's why I went with a Mod2
Thankfully does not say "Grip Zone"on the grip, a real plus, but does say "tactical" [the most overused and now meaningless firearm term in existence] on left side of the slide. A Springfield or re placed Mod2 logo would look better, but you are not buying this for its aesthetic value.
Carry. I suppose, if your EDC is unavailable or you regularly carry a 1911. I found a Clipdraw universal that I could mount a bit forward on the slide for fast easy draw.
Price. I picked it up partly because I got it delivered for $400, [sale at Bud's] partly because I regretted selling my Mod2 .45
Bottom line. Add a Streamlight for an excellent house gun. No need for laser or tritium

I love my new 5 inch Springfield! This is my fifth Springfield! For the money you can’t buy a better gun! It was perfect right out of the box! Got a great price from Bud’s Gun! Got it in less than a week!

This is a really plain jane pistol and is the main reason I bought it. Reliability and accuracy and ease of carry is all that's necessary for EDC. I prefer the xd over xdm anyway tbh. This Tactical xd comes in a really nice air and watertight case with two 16 round mags, Lucas gun oil packet, several extra fiber front sight inserts that are green and red and owners manual. It is easy to handle, tear down and clean and very well made. The gun has a loaded chamber indicator and charged firing pin indicator which leaves you with an extra level of safety. Definitely this gun is worth 350 dollars. That is a heck of a bargain. You get alot of gun for that money. It is really easy to point and shoot. It hits right where the sights line up and functions like it should. Especially for the price there is no doubt I came out way ahead on this one.

This pistol is quite amazing. Because of it's size, the recoil is low, making it super easy to shoot and on target with second and third shots. The fiber optic front sight is also a bonus. The first time taking it to shoot, I was hitting my target from around 50 yards! The trigger is amazing and the Grip Zone handle is very comfortable and ergonomic. I've got med/large hands and it fits me like a glove. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase! The only con for this pistol is that it's hard to find holsters for it. Being the Tactical version with the 5" barrel, there aren't many holsters on the market. I took advantage of Bud's lay away program for this pistol. Once I paid it off, Bud's immediately had it in the mail to my FFL. It was in my hands three days later.

My first order with Buds took several days to get it because I did electronic check in order to get paid in full discount but it was worth the wait. The XD MOD 2 is a fantastic weapon right out of the box I was shooting tight shot groups at 25 feet. It is thinn and textured grip is comfortable and comfortable. They don’t even have the “grip zone” written on it which is awesome. Love the fiber optic sight and makes for quick target acquisition. My 14 year old son loved it and only wanted to shoot it over all my other pistols. Great weapon I and what an AMAZING price. Highly recommend!

I am real happy that I bought the xd mod 2 9 mm it shoots just wonderful has hardly any recoil and the first time I shot it I was amazed how well it did. Buds gun shop was real pleasant to deal deal with and primped with the product sale and delivery

Quick shipping. The one I recieved was one of the new production guns WITHOUT "GRIP ZONE" ON THE GRIP, which made the purchase even better in my mind.

Bud's gets an A for service. I didn't realize that I could order delivered to the store and pay there. I placed the order and it was ready for pickup in 2 days. I like the gun itself a lot. The trigger reach is very nice as compared to my CZ75 clone. The grip and grip angle feel very comfortable and natural. The trigger takeup and over travel is not the best and will receive an aftermarket upgrade soon. It has an ambi mag release which is nice, but they don't have an ambi slide release, which isn't. The controls and takedown is the same as my XDs, so familiarity is a plus. Overall it's a nice upgrade to what I was shooting and I recommend it.

I was little hesitating because I never saw this gun or tried it before and honestly I am amaze. This gun is awsome! It fit perfectly in hand, sight are great, it's light same compare to other 4" 9mm, and it look good! I highly recommend this gun. I am very happy with it.

I received my XD Mod.2 Tactical from Buds in a little bit of late fashion, but that's normal when not paying with a credit card to get that 3% discount. The gun looked great, felt great and shot great right out of the box. My wife and I took it to the range to test it out a few weeks ago. I used Federal Champion 124gr FMJ ammo and also Federal HST 147gr HP ammo. It functioned flawlessly. Each ammo fed fine, ejected fine, and the gun was on point. Between 10-20 yrds, the gun shot perfect. With the sights that are installed on it (Fiber Optic Front, Combat 2-dot Rear), if you put the front sight over the dot on the target, that's what you get. It is well-balanced, feels amazing in the hand, and recoil is very manageable. I did notice, however, that this gun doesn't weigh much more than my XD-M compact. It is lighter than I expected, giving it a little bit of a snap on recoil (not like a .40) but more than you would expect from an XD/XD-M 9mm. It is most likely due to its reduced weight. Overall, I love it. When you have 16 rds in the magazine, it feels very balanced and it shoots very smoothly. Trigger pull is a mix between the XD-S and the XD-M...that means it is awesome. Crisp break with a short reset. This is a gun that could be used in a tactical environment for sure. Easy take-down, easy to clean, easy to re-assemble, easy to shoot. This is a Glock 34 Gen 4 competitor for sure, and it even feels better in the hand! Overall, I am going to buy another Mod.2 as soon as they release the .45 Service Model! This is a great gun for a great price. Try it!

Got this gem yesterday, already put 400 rds through it and had no hick ups, I don't always buy guns online but when i do i buy from buds.

The Springfield XD Mod 2 is an awesome handgun! The 5 inch barrel and fiber optic front sight with tactical rear sights allow quick target acquisition and accurate shot placement. I was initially torn between the Springfield XDM Competition model and the XD Mod 2, but am more than impressed with the Mod 2 in regards to its performance! After picking this gun up from my FFL Dealer, I cleaned and oiled it down to make sure it was well ready for the first time of target practice. This gun was dead on right out of the box!! This would be a great gun to bring into IDPA or Three Gun Competition shooting! Buds did a phenomenal job with extremely fast shipping and great customer support! I would recommend the Springfield XD Mod 2 for anyone interested in a Springfield firearm, for defensive purposes, or for competition shooting! Excellent Firearm with great customer service!!
