This is an excellent shooter. After putting on all the toys, i.e. scope, bypod it is the most accurate firearm I have ever used. With reloads I was able to get 1 1/2" groups at 300 yds. Say your prayers Mr Prairie dog. A tad heavy to be lugging around the woods, but outstanding for long range target practice or "dog" huntn.

You can't go wrong with a Remington 700...period! I bought this gun for prairie dog hunting and it definately fits the bill. I love the beaver tail forearm and the vents to cool the barrel faster. Shoots like a dream and has a nice (but not custom) trigger pull. I mainly shoot pistols with 5 plus pounds of pull on the trigger so this trigger feels great to me. To put the cherry on top, it's chambered in a .204 Ruger! This round is amazingly fast and available in several grains. It is devastating on varmints and the carnage is something right out of a horror film. You will not regret purchasing this rifle in such a bad to the bone cartidge.

Best varmint rifle for the price...shoots 0.25 MOA using all types of ammo.
