I spent hours reading gun forums and watching youtube videos gathering info for my search for the best handgun under $300.00 that would meet my needs. Being relatively inexpensive but having a reputation for ruggedness, dependability, adequate accuracy and was backed by a good warranty. I settled on the Armscor Model 200 38 special and to date, I'm very pleased with it. Right away I noticed how good and balanced it felt in my hand. The other thing I noticed was how saturated it was in rust preventative which I cleaned off. The DA trigger pull is heavy but I quickly got used to that doing dry fire drills using snap caps. The sights took a little while to get used to as they blend in and the front sight was hard to pick up but with dry fire practice, I'm comfortable with them now. The weight of the gun is almost unnoticeable, either in my hand or in my outside the belt holster, and firing 130 grain low cost ammo, the recoil is negligible but I'm a big guy at 6'2" and 230 lbs. For anyone on a tight budget looking for a handgun to be used as a home defense weapon, this would do the job in my opinion.

Nice shooting heavy revolver. The flat black finish is great and the grip fits most people's hands. The sight blends in so it's a little tough to quickly pick up but it's accurate nonetheless. Shoots whatever ammo you feed it and is comfortable for a long stay at the range.

My first transaction with Bud's and can't say enough about how great their customer service it. As with all Armscor firearms it was soaked in rust preventive, this is not oil or lubricant, it is rust preventive. When cleaned and properly lubricated I put 300 rounds through the firearm in one afternoon with NOT ONE problem. Grips that came with the firearm were good, how ever I replaced my with a set of houge grips and that greatly improved my grouping. The finish is not parkerized but anodized, and seem to hold up pretty well so far. I bought this firearm as a fun gun. Because of the price I thought I would have some fun with it. The internals are not colt or s&w, only the grips and speed loaders are interchangeable with colt D frames. The cylinder release looks like a colt but that is the only thing, the internals are completely different. After realizing the reliability, accuracy and handling of the gun was so good I figured I have some fun with it. I don't recommend someone who is not a gunsmith to try this. I drilled and tapped the top strap and mounted a picattany rail, I mounted a red dot sight and took to the local NRA Action Pistol Shoot. Now I didn't shot as well as I do with my normal firearm, but you wouldn't believe the people who said there was no way that gun cost $239 and shot that well. My plans are to give the firearm a polished action job and put a lighter main spring in. The M200 is a great gun for the money and with the right gunsmith can be just as good as the higher priced ones.

I purchased this gun in august and had to send it back to Armscor due to a cylinder latch problem. Their customer service is good and I recieve my pistol back it three weeks. They fixed it, so now I can get on with the review. Over all, really like this pistol. It came packed in oil. I mean dripping with oil. It had to be stripped down to get all the oil out of it. I then lubed it with grease on all the working inside and it is really a shooth DA trigger now. My 12 year old can shoot it with ease. I am now looking at getting the M200 with no hammer. I think it would make a good CCW in a pinch. This gun is priced right. I would check for issues before accepting it though. That was the one disappointing thing. If you are on a budget, get this. I can rely on it to do its thing, unlike some of the cheap autos out there.

This is a very good hand gun. I have this weapon for a few months. I have fire a 1000 round with my M 200.without any problems. I will use this weapons for CCW. I am able to hit my target up 25 yard with out any problems. If you need a gun and you do not have much money, buy this gun it will get job done.

Not a bad budget wheel gun. Came packed heavily in oil. Cleaned and on the first range trip the cylinder locked up on 2 diff occasions in approx 70 rounds, each time had to jiggle it to get it back into action. Had a friend of mine who's a Smith take a look at it. Said the timing and lock up are fine, ran some rounds through it, may just need break in. Problems haven't repeated. We'll see. Grips are very hard dense rubber. Revolver is basically a Colt clone, not a lot of meat in the cylinder, I'd follow the manufacturers rec and don't run +P. This is not anything like a Smith or Ruger, but for a beater, kit gun, truck gun, as long as you vet it and its running right, great buy for the money. Thanks Buds
