This was my first compact 1911 purchase and I have to say I enjoy shooting this gun very much. I've only had it a couple of days and have already put a couple hundred rounds through it without a hiccup. It cycles well and is very comfortable to shoot. My only problem was that the bottom corner of the grip kept digging into my hand. When I looked closely I noticed that one side had been finished and ground to a gentle curve while the corner on my dominant hand side had quite a point on it. After a minute with the grinding wheel the two corners looked the same, albeit with a bit of shiny steel showing through where I ground. The gun is now very comfortable to hold and shoot. Other than a bit of quality control, I am quite happy with my purchase and look forward to putting a lot of rounds downrange with this gun.

I held off on the RIA train until this little compact. Really I didn't expect much, was I wrong! It is properly fitted and adjusted, with excellent and flawless feeding, ejection and extraction. Everything functioned proper, even the magazine. Finish is a even parkerizing, just keep it oiled, the coarseness holds lubricant as it is designed to do. Is it a $1000 pistol for $400? No, it's not , but what it is, is a hell of a deal for a Officers sized .45acp. I did install an extractor and firing pin stop made of bar stock , my choice. Supplied items were of the series 80 design, I do not know why. But series 80 stuff will work in a series 70 design gun (not vice- versa) so not really a big deal, you do not have to modify your pistol! It continues to run very well with no failures of any kind in well over 500 rounds. I held off on the review till it had been shot a lot, I dislike reviews that focus on the beauty of the gun. And this gun is also easy to look at, but I love the 1911_ I did change the grips to some checkered double diamond walnut grips. And I painted the front sight. Thats all I've got, if you're in the market for a short barreled 1911, this may be for you. I know it has run better than some 3" barreled more expensive models that I know of! Buds shipped in their stated timeframe , no more no less. Have purchased over a dozen so I must be satisfied.

If you buy this with the understanding that it is a budget 1911 and not the sexiest 1911 you've ever seen then you'll be pleased! Please don't misunderstand me, the firearm is sexy and functions quite well. Based on the price point and lifetime warranty you can't go wrong here!

I was pleasantly surprised at how fast this firearm shipped. Just as with every other Armscor made 1911 I have come across, this one is great. Very accurate, very reliable. I had it broken in at 150 rounds. Still shooting flawlessly today. Don't be fooled by the price; this is much more gun than it is worth.

The RIA Officers Model is a super pistol. I could not be happier with it. I'm a Police Firearm Instructor, so I shoot alot of different guns. This is my favorite off-duty gun. As with most 1911 pistols, some break in is neccessary. Even so, I've never had a FTF or FTE with this gun. The trigger is excellent. My only mod was to replace the grips with a nice set of VZ Grips. I've purchased several guns from Bud's and they are always on top of their game. Great customer service and lowest prices.

The RIA series of 1911s have long been proven incredibly reliable, particularly at the price point and so far out the gate this officer model has ran as good as any of my Colts. One welcome change is that the new RIAs no longer have the massive rollmark on the slide, instead, they now feature a small logo behind the cocking serrations on the slide(looks laser etched). Aside from that a very clean appearance, and fit/finish seems to be greatly improved from the early model RIA guns that I own. It shipped with a very nice case and one 7rd magazine with base pad, although Wilson Combat mags would be greatly recommended. The only thing which is with all the factory grips on RIA guns, they are horrible and offer no grip whatsoever. A set of VZ grips will easily solve this problem.
