The RIA Officers Model is a super pistol. I could not be happier with it. I'm a Police Firearm Instructor, so I shoot alot of different guns. This is my favorite off-duty gun. As with most 1911 pistols, some break in is neccessary. Even so, I've never had a FTF or FTE with this gun. The trigger is excellent. My only mod was to replace the grips with a nice set of VZ Grips. I've purchased several guns from Bud's and they are always on top of their game. Great customer service and lowest prices.

The RIA series of 1911s have long been proven incredibly reliable, particularly at the price point and so far out the gate this officer model has ran as good as any of my Colts. One welcome change is that the new RIAs no longer have the massive rollmark on the slide, instead, they now feature a small logo behind the cocking serrations on the slide(looks laser etched). Aside from that a very clean appearance, and fit/finish seems to be greatly improved from the early model RIA guns that I own. It shipped with a very nice case and one 7rd magazine with base pad, although Wilson Combat mags would be greatly recommended. The only thing which is with all the factory grips on RIA guns, they are horrible and offer no grip whatsoever. A set of VZ grips will easily solve this problem.

All I can say about this thing is that it shoots everything I stuff in it and is very dependable. Like most low priced 1911's the trigger got worked over, now all is well.

The Rock Island Officers 45 is a Big Hit with me. I have fired 200 through the throat, Not one issue. The Gun is Accurate right out of the box. This might be by far the best kept secret. The RIA is an excellent firearm! Thanks Buds. This one is a Keeper!

I own a Kimber but didn't want to drop another thousand on a "pretty" gun for carry that was just going to get beat up every day. I have had absolutely ZERO issues with this gun. The price is amazing and it functions flawlessly. Accuracy isn't bad either considering the sights it comes with. I couldn't have been happier with this purchase. FYI, Rock Island has been making 1911's almost as long as we have here in the states.

I purchased this pistol several months ago. I am a big fan of 1911 pistols- this one is my fourth. I have a colt commander which I keep by the bed, I would find anything else unlikely to measure up. Even so, this RIA compact model is quite nice. I've put 200 rounds of handloads through this pistol, both semi-wadcutter and LRN lead bullets, FMJ and truncated cone jacketed bullets. All have fed well (after the 1st 30 or so rounds). Accuracy is quite satisfactory--its very easy to keep your rounds within a 10" circle at 25 yds offhand. It seems tp shoot to point of aim at that range. It is also very concealable in small-of-back inside-the-pant holster. I find it much more comfortable to carry than my springfield xd40compact. It's smoother, rounder edges don't gouge you in the back while driving. I am quite pleased with this pistol!
