The CZ 550 FS is a fantastic rifle! I purchased mine in the 9.3x62mm Mauser chambering, and this has proven to be a heavy hitting round with a +/-3" point blank range of 200-250 yards depending on my ammunition selection. The quality of the rifle itself is top notch. Fitting of the barreled action to the stock is superb. For a standard grade wood, the figure is most beautiful. Blueing is high luster, which is a luxury to come by at this price point in modern day. The action is slick and smooth, with the resistance of closing the bolt engaging about halfway down, indicating the head spacing is near perfect. The most outstanding feature this rifle, is the amazing trigger in both of its functions. The standard pull is three pounds, maybe. When set all it takes is near a pound of pressure, which I found most useful on the target range. When using the iron sights, there is enough adjustment for 3" high zero at 100 yards using the original pressure specification ammunition. Given the front bead sight and the limits of my ability, I opted to mount a Leupold FX 2.5 ultralight in medium permanent Warne rings. The hogback style stock with its 14" LOP is shaped so that I am still able to obtain a cheek-weld with this sighting setup. Benched precision was 4-5 inches at 200 yards, probably could be improved with a stronger optic and modern pressure rounds. Field carry and maneuvering is a breeze as this rifle is relatively short, and most certainly lightweight. If you're a fan of high quality rifles in the metal finish and wood of yesteryear, this is it!

Recently purchased this firearm, based on reviews and satisfaction with other CZ products. Beautiful Turkish walnut stock, and well-finished stock. The single set trigger works well, with a bit more over-travel than I am used to, but by then the bullet is gone. My reloads with 286 grain bullets (I haven't had a chance to try other weights) easily group under 1" at 50 yards. Will shoot at longer distances next trip to the range. The checkering is clean and crisp. About 1/3 the price of some rifles I have had, and fun to shoot.

An exceptional rifle, both in fit and finish. The bolt is very smooth with no hang-ups and the finish on the wood stock is perfect as is the bluing on the rifle's metal surfaces. The trigger is adjustable for a perfect pull for the individual shooter and the iron sights were a huge selling point for me. My only real complaint might be that I must remove the rifle from my shoulder to cycle the bolt because the bolt is so long it strikes my nose if I try to cycle it with it shouldered but otherwise it is a great gun.

Very popular in Canada, Europe, and Africa for dangerous game up to and including elephant. An excellent choice in the States for Bear and Boar. CZ has an excellent two stage trigger and the quality is outstanding with great fit and finish. The 9.3 x 62 has been around over 110 years and will stop anything in North America out to about 200 or so yards. It was used extensively by European settlers in Africa to put meat on the table, etc. Excellent price for such a nice gun. The recoil however is not for the faint of heart, though it is reasonable. As this is not a popular round in the U.S. (bust should be), get the gun while it is available.

Beautiful and very classy rifle. MOA at 100 yards. Recoil is manageable but noticeable. Yes I wore my sissy pad. Bud's service was as always second to none.
