This is my first stripped lower. I was expecting a smooth finish, but the finish is more like a fine grit sandpaper. It's matte, not glossy. It feels durable. It might take me a few months to actually finish constructing my AR, but I don't expect any problems with this lower based on previous people giving it good reviews. Plus I like the look of the Stag logo versus other manufacturer logos.

Great lower, but the finish did come with some scratches and scuff marks. The box it came in had no padding in it. So due to the scuffs and scratches on the finish, however minor, I am giving this 4 stars. The finish itself (coating or paint), is pretty good. Apart from all that, this seems to be a pretty nice lower.

Received in perfect condition, internals fit perfectly. Used dpms lower parts and slide fire stock assembly. Topped it off with a 16 inch hbar and RRA flat top upper and it's a flawless fit. Trigger is real smooth, finish is flat black.

i was very concerned when i did not get any emails letting me know what was the status of my lower and a pistol i bought, then i received an email saying the the sales in feb 2012 was really high and shipping might be delayed, the day after i received the email i got my tracking number and the next day it was at my ffl. it took 4 business days for everything so that was surprising and great service. The product is mil-spec so i used a dpms lower parts kit with a rising sun stock, every thing fit perfectly. I married it to a adam arms piston driven upper. fits together perfectly no visible gap. i am very satisfied with the lower. the lower is a matted black and my upper has that melonite coating so its shinny but no biggy for me.
