I assume the reason for the good price on these is that Bud's gets a large batch and wants to turn them over quickly. That and the fact that, with the whole back stock of a police department, condition is going to vary. You pays your money, you takes your chances. I waited a good while after the batch was advertised to order one, and was afraid (not because of anything about Bud's, just because it happens online) that they sold the best ones first to get good reviews and I'd get one in a lesser condition. Not the case at all, and I was thouroughly pleased when it arrived. Mine was a 10-10 manufactued in 1994 or 1995, with the heavy barrel. Condition was more like 90 percent on the blueing - really the only noticeable bluing loss was on the crown of the barrel and some rubs on the top of the frame. hardly noticeable. For some reason the wood grips were pretty beat up, but they're classics and give the revolver character, so I'm not going to change them. Took it to the range and put about 200 rounds through it, checking all mechanical functions every dozen rounds or so. No problems. Am used to a longer-barrel single-action Ruger, so the trigger pull took some getting used to - but that's me, not the gun! Wouldn't hesitate to order a police trade-in in the future.

Real nice piece. Just as described, holster wear and well used original wood grips...I really like the look of it! This is my only revolver and its nice to have one in the collection.

Pretty new at this, but super fast shipping and what seems to be a great gun at a low price will keep me coming back!

I asked that, if possible, one with standard S&W wood grips be sent. One week after ordering, I received just what I asked for. This was my first gun purchase from Bud's, but not my first order. I am pleased with both the service and prices. The gun itself is as advertised.

I received a 10-10 in very good condition. There is the standard wear at the muzzle and side of barrel from holster wear. The blueing is amazing! The lockup is really tight and the gun is very accurate. Shoots great! Trigger pull is amazing in both single and double action. Mine came with wood grips. This is my favorite revolver now and I own several nice Smith and Wessons, Rugers, and Colts. Thanks Buds!!!

I received a Model 10-8 with aftermarket wood grips. As advertised, there is plenty of holster wear. Mechanically, this pistol is great. The SA trigger has that classic "S&W glass break". DA is very nice also. No import marks or other stampings. If you are looking for a solid S&W classic shooter, this one fits the bill. Once again, I am very satisfied with Buds.
