Based on other customer reviews, I decided to pick one of these up while they were still in stock, but my bad streak when it comes to buying used guns online unfortunately continues. In terms of function, there's nothing wrong with this pistol- action is smooth, lockup is tight, barrel rifling is clean and crisp, and the trigger rates probably 3-4 pounds in SA mode. Unfortunately, in terms of cosmetics, this piece is more or less roached. I would put cosmetic condition at less than 50%. Extensive bluing loss around the barrel, scratches across almost every surface, and there is onset rust and pitting on the cylinder, top barrel rib and beneath the grips. It is not yet deep but it is not cleanable by normal means and will require the entire pistol to be refinished, which I have already dropped it off with my preferred coater to have this done. The grips are also neither S&W wood or Pachmayr's but a set of super cheap Uncle Mike's that are in extremely poor condition. This piece looks to be one that was fired very little but unfortunately carried by an officer who handled it extremely roughly. Having this piece refinished and getting a new set of grips will run about $200- I have still decided to keep it however for a couple of reasons. Namely, the combined cost of Bud's and refinishing is still less than buying a new model 10, the piece is mechanically sound, and since it is a 10-11 model, it has a safer transfer bar ignition but no internal gun lock. I would recommend this buy to someone looking to get a quality S&W wheelgun at a good price, but be forewarned that it may require additional work if it is a piece that you plan to keep for the long run.

Cosmetics are about 70%-80% as shown on description. Mechanics are 90%+ on the unit I received-a model 10-11. Definitely a good buy. I just may pick up a square butt as well.

I took delivery of my Smith and Wesson Model 10 Round Butt today, 6/5/2015. It was shipped quickly to my FFL by Bud's, and to say I am pleased would be an understatement. My sample is a Model 10-10 with factory round butt, and came with the factory small wood grips on it. The only real signs of use I can find on the gun are the typical wear at the muzzle of a firearm which has been holstered on duty, and some very slight dings on the grips. Bore and chambers are mirror bright. There was absolutely no rust, pitting, or dings on the metal of my revolver, and it locks up tight as new. When I ordered mine, the stock photo showed the new style thumb latch, which I truly hate, but thankfully the actual gun came with the older one I am used to. I've been shooting Smith revolvers for over 40 years, and this one feels just like it is supposed to. If you have never felt the action on an older Smith, it is worth the money just to buy one so you know what you were missing all along. Although I had been advised to expect the gun to be packed in grease, thankfully such was not the case. I gave it a quick cleaning and fired it with some factory ammo at 7 yards (all the distance I had) and all six shots went into one ragged hole at point of aim. This one is a keeper. Great revolver at a great price, and every "gun guy" needs a Model 10!

The product was received and was as advertised. The finish was at about 75% and had no rust. The barrel was bright and the rifling crisp. The cylinder was extremely tight and the double action was typically smooth and timed well. The cylinder was shimmed. I took the revolver to the range and put a 100 rounds through it. I produced 3" groups at 7 and 15 yards. I am well satisfied with my purchase of a used S&W Model 10.

Great deal on a classic 10! Minor holster wear, but absolutely no rust and locks up tight. Smooth trigger pull, and very crisp in SA. Cleaned up very nice. Extremely satisfied!

I got one with rubber s&w grips, which has a bit of wear on them, but i swapped them out for some hogues, anyway. The pistol itself is great. I have my dad's old model 15, with adjustable sights, but this one shoots very nice, is tight, & has a lot of life in it. A great price for a classic revolver, from a good vendor. From the serial # mine was made in 3/95, & there was just a little holster wear on the barrel. the rifling is good, & it locks up perfectly. If the rest of them are like this, you cannot go wrong with this revolver.
