The price on these S&W Model 10s, was at the time, too good to pass up. So, I bought 3, one for me and 2 more to use in my training classes.
I expected these used guns to be somewhat beat up and not necessarily accurate, but for the close quarters combat training that I do in my CCW classes, I figured that they would be good enough and newbies couldn't abuse them too badly.
Much to my surprise, all three were in decent shape and aesthetically pleasing. The real surprise came when I took them to my favorite shooting spot. All three of these Model 10s, were still very accurate.
At 50 yards, I was able to break an orange clay pigeon on the first shot.
Having found out the above information, I'm a bit more selective on who I allow to shoot these venerable old guns.
