I received the Century Romanian Makarov in a very timely manner to my FFL. Sometimes you never know exactly what you are going to get with surplus but boy was I pleasantly surprised. I received a pistol in excellent shape. It looked virtually unused aside from a scuff here and there. The bluing on it was 90%. Internally it looked like it had never been fired. There were zero usage marks evident on the internal components. Mine came with 2 magazines, 2 types of grips, cleaning rod and surplus leather holster. Very pleased with the condition and Bud's service. Can't wait to clean it up and get it out to the range.

Great surplus Bulgarian MP from Century Arms. Mine looks hardly used and the finish and barrel are in excellent condition. Awesome value for a pistol under $300. Serials match on frame and slide and mine dates to 1977. Gun's de-cocking lever is also a nice addition to this hardy and time tested design. Super accurate with 2 inch or less groupings at 15-22 ft. With 200 rds of cheapo Wolf/Tula through it I did not get a single misfire, jam or misfeed. Highly recommended!!

Wow!! Great find. The pistol I received is in excellent shape. I'm trying to determine if it was even ever actually put into service. The blueing is very shiney. I tore it down to clean and that was very easy, even removing the firing pin. The barrel looks brand new. I ran some copper & lead solvent down the bore, and it never even showed traces of leading or copper. Totally clean. I was happy to see that it wouldn't be the typical journey through the Land of Cosmoline like every other CAI weapon I have ever had. Sprayed some degreaser on it, wiped things down, let it dry, reassembled, put some protectant on it, and it looks like a brand new gun. The only thing I did was put the original Communist Star, Bakelite grips back on it that actually came in the box. The ugly, slick, black plastic grips that Century installed on it with a shiny, zinc-plated machine screw had to go. In fact, that's the only negative I can find to speak of. It also came with an original black (vinyl not leather) holster and cleaning rod. I'll be purchasing an original, leather flap holster asap because they are plentiful and cheap enough. Oh yeah, Bud's rocked it as usual. I placed my order on Tuesday and my TFFL had it on Friday.

I had previously written a review upon receipt of the pistol but it was not posted for some reason. The pistol is described as "refurbished excellent condition" by Century. My sample of one did not reflect that. The pistol has nice deep bluing but was let down by moderate pitting at four locations on the slide. It also had corrosion on the rear sight and the slide grooves. Outside of the Century boys rolling their mark on the slide I saw no evidence of any refurbishment and would hardly call this "excellent" condition. I was able to clean the corrosion by vigorous scrubbing with Kroil and a nylon brush. The pitting is deep enough that it is now part of the "patina". Now the good news. Pistol looked barely used. It comes with a unused black leather holster, 2 hard to get mags and a combo cleaning rod/tool. They also give you 2 grips. A smooth black one (nice for range but useless for a fighting gun. The other grip is the original Bulgarian brown/red with the commie star. Nice grip. At the range it was flawless, accurate and fun to shoot. Ran Silver Bear FMJ & HP and Hornady XTP. All worked with no issues. My original rating was 3 stars but uprated to 4 stars for the flawless operation. As with any other Century product it's a roll of the dice with what you get. i realize it's a used gun but don't agree with it's "excellent" rating by Century. I'm disappointed with the pitting but delighted with it's function and there is value there with the package. As usual Buds service is super.
