Pretty good target and critter pistol. Great price and quick shipping from Bud%u2019s. I would have rated this pistol higher if not for 2 problems. #1 The slide will not operate unless there is a magazine in place and the safety is off. So I you have a round in the chamber, with a full mag - in order to clear the chamber you have to drop the mag, completely unload it, pop it back in, move the safety off and hope you don%u2019t accidentally hit the trigger while pulling the slide back to eject the round. #2. I found it difficult to disassemble and change barrels. First the break down lever is cheap and difficult to slide, secondly the slide spring pops out easily during reassembly and difficult to keep in place. My first one %u201Claunched%u201D itself a few times and got lost, so I had to order new springs to reassemble the pistol after changing barrels.

Fabulous gun for the money. Probably fabulous at any price. Fires flawlessly, comfortable to hold and aim and simple to clean and switch barrels. A good gun at double the price.

I do not regret buying the HP22, the safety\'s are kind of a pain in the ass. but if you look around on the web, there are ways to go around them or disable them.....But the thing goes bang all the time, and every time, forgot what kind of ammo I used, it was meant at the time as a tool box gun, does not look refined in any way, but it was cheap and shoots every time, fairly accurate also. No complaints, for the money, 5 stars

There are many HP22A reviews online, along with many youtube videos. Its a nice 22LR pistol for the price. My kit came with the longer barrel, cleaning tools, oil, earplugs, etc, etc; its all in the selling description. These accessories are held securely inside the case during transport and would be difficult to get into without the key. Its hard to see in the photos, but there is an additional lock that can be inserted into the pistol grip after removing the magazine. The case key is needed to remove this device. I always hide the ammo and put this extra safety device in place when the grandkids are coming over. One other suggestion... watch the available Youtube videos on barrel switching. The recoil spring is under the barrel and will pop out and go across the room at high speed unless you use "proper" procedure. My rating 5 stars... enjoy.

I give very high praise to Phoenix Arms and to Bud\'s for their customer service. The original gun I received was very inaccurate even at short distances (15-20\') and more more so with the 5\" barrel. Otherwise the gun cycled flawlessly with any cheap ammo I tried - used only standard velocity rounds per manufacturers recommendation. I like the weight, balance, and feel of the gun in my hand. I also like the looks, especially with the 3\" barrel. I also think it shoots very softly and is easy to control. After about 500 rounds with no improvement in accuracy I contacted Phoenix. They are not open on Friday, so I left a message and I was surprised when someone called me back about 15 minutes later. I explained that I was having problems with accuracy and was suspicious it might be due to a loose barrel. The associate told me to send them the barrel and they would look at it. I sent the barrel, and about 3 days after mailing it a technician called me to tell me that he inspected and tested the barrel on another gun and it was ok. He suggested that I send them the complete gun and both barrels and magazines and he would check out everything together. They do not provide return labels, but he said he would compensate me for my cost by including a couple magazines when they returned the gun. I cannot ship a firearm from NC without an FFL except by overnight which is quite expensive. I contacted Bud\'s and they offered to provide a shipping label under their FFL at no cost to me - thank you Bud\'s! About 10 day\'s later I received a new gun frame directly from Phoenix with my original barrels, magazines, and a new spare magazine. They even returned it FedEx priority overnight. I have put about 200 rounds of the cheapest (and probably dirtiest) Aguilla SV ammo I can buy through the new gun with no cycling errors whatsoever and no failures to fire - no polishing, lubricating, or other adjustment. The gun is about 30% less accurate than my Ruger Mark III which exceeds my expectations for what it is. I am extremely happy with the gun, but feel even better after going through the problems I had with the original frame. To expect perfection in a low cost firearm right out of the box is not reasonable, but in my case, both Phoenix Arms and Bud\'s really stand behind the products they make and sell.

This is my first Phoenix arms hp22 rangemaster. I'm very impressed with the Quality of this Company/Gun! I would entertain any caliber pistol they would decide to make preferably 9MM.
