Went straight from the FFL to the range with this gun. Overall a neat little gun at a great price. Its no high end gun but for plinking or target shooting it seems more than adequate.
Double Safety, nice to prevent an accidental discharge but the lower safety needs to be in the safe position to put in or remove the magazine.
No last round lock open feature
No lock open feature, only allows about a 3/8 inch pull back when there is not a magazine in place, makes it difficult to really see if there is a round in the chamber.
Magazine release needs to be pressed to both remove and insert a magazine.
Adjustable windage on rear sight
Extremely light trigger pull, nice for accuracy but very easy to accidentally discharge.
FTF and FTE:
I ran about 300 rounds through it today. I suggest trying several brands of ammo to see what works best. I was using a Federal Bulk Target, Standard Velocity and a Remington Bulk Target, Standard Velocity. I alternated brands 10 rounds at a time. After about 150 rounds the Federal had FTE about 1 in 20 and 2 or 3 FTF. One case stuck in the barrel and I had to have someone hold the action open while I put a rod down the barrel to pop the case out. It appeared the open end of the casing had flared a bit causing it to stick in the chamber. I had no problems with the Remington ammunition. 100% firing and ejection though 2 casings did not clear the slide fully before it closed.
My overall opinion of this gun?
A gun snob will probably not like it. But i do, I knew I was not buying a "high end" gun and it fit my budget. For the price I paid I got a good product. Time will tell how it performs in the long run. But for target shooting and plinking at a low price I'm pleased.
Would I buy another?
With my budget and what I want the gun to do, Yes and I would and would have no problem recommending it to someone with similar needs.
PS, Get the extended magazine, makes the gun fit a larger hand much nicer.
