This is a finicky little pistol. It can only shoot subsonic ammo, shooting anything other than that will cause it to rattle it's screws and rivets apart. I disabled the magazine safety which was a nuisance - this was very easy to do, by just removing the grip and snipping the corner off the metal plate that slides into the magazine release. This made it a MUCH simpler to unload. I keep it in my car, and I find the subsonic ammo makes it okay to shoot without hearing protection. At one point I had to deal with Phoenix customer service, and they were very generous (free replacement parts) when I finally got them on the phone (good luck on that !). It's small but it's solid metal heft makes it feel good in the hand.

Went straight from the FFL to the range with this gun. Overall a neat little gun at a great price. Its no high end gun but for plinking or target shooting it seems more than adequate. Dislikes: Double Safety, nice to prevent an accidental discharge but the lower safety needs to be in the safe position to put in or remove the magazine. No last round lock open feature No lock open feature, only allows about a 3/8 inch pull back when there is not a magazine in place, makes it difficult to really see if there is a round in the chamber. Magazine release needs to be pressed to both remove and insert a magazine. Likes: Adjustable windage on rear sight Light weight Price Caution: Extremely light trigger pull, nice for accuracy but very easy to accidentally discharge. FTF and FTE: I ran about 300 rounds through it today. I suggest trying several brands of ammo to see what works best. I was using a Federal Bulk Target, Standard Velocity and a Remington Bulk Target, Standard Velocity. I alternated brands 10 rounds at a time. After about 150 rounds the Federal had FTE about 1 in 20 and 2 or 3 FTF. One case stuck in the barrel and I had to have someone hold the action open while I put a rod down the barrel to pop the case out. It appeared the open end of the casing had flared a bit causing it to stick in the chamber. I had no problems with the Remington ammunition. 100% firing and ejection though 2 casings did not clear the slide fully before it closed. My overall opinion of this gun? A gun snob will probably not like it. But i do, I knew I was not buying a "high end" gun and it fit my budget. For the price I paid I got a good product. Time will tell how it performs in the long run. But for target shooting and plinking at a low price I'm pleased. Would I buy another? With my budget and what I want the gun to do, Yes and I would and would have no problem recommending it to someone with similar needs. PS, Get the extended magazine, makes the gun fit a larger hand much nicer.

This is my first firearm purchase from bud's. I have to admit that I was a little wary at first. Now?? I will say that buying from Buds guns online was a seamless and flawless transaction! 2 days from KY to my FFL in Wisconsin!?!? Amazing fast! My little pistol came in without a scratch. Can't wait to get it out to the range early next week! If this is any indication of the service that can be expected shopping at buds guns online, I am a customer for LIFE! Thanks everyone at buds!!!!!

Straight out of the box to the range. Ran 100 rounds. No problems at all. Multiple safeties easy to figure. Comfortable in my hands. A pleasure to shoot. The range master was surprised at the nice shot placement, since I am not a good shot. Dis-assembly and cleaning was tough the first time. Assembly is tricky. Much smoother feel after cleaned and oiled. The manual could be better. Great pistol for the price. I will try to get two more when Buds re-stocks!

Purchased this for my wife about a year ago, need a small caliber because of the arthritis in her hands. I got concerned because the reviews of other guns having used slow or fast bullets so I took 50 34 grain cci mini mags and 50 40 grain Federals to the range last tuesday, just me and my son in law with two mags. Both bullets faster than 1250 fps. I rotated the two mags 10 fed 10 minis as fast as I could pull the trigger. I was slowed only by the redundent California safety system, but still put all 100 rounds through the gun in less than 15 minutes. Not a failure This is a great little gun. Should be the end of the story but no I had to clean the gun, striped it down cleaned and oiled and was putting it back together and the recoil spring disappeared into the twilight zone. Looked for it for two days, gave up called Phoenix Arms and ordered new spring which arrived Monday. What great service.
