Great deal for a plinker. Sometimes needs to be pushed into battery but It\'s only had about 200 rounds through it. Most of the time it\'s quite reliable. The kids love it, and at 10 yards, my wife can hit a golf ball every time. For a cheap California gun, with a ton of unnecessary safeties, it\'s very enjoyable to shoot and the kids love it. I actually want to get another one before the rush makes the price go up.

bought & sold many firearms over the years and when i saw the phoenix arms hp 22 and the price i checked it and the reviews out and it seemed like for the price it would be a good little pocket pistol. anyway i guess i did not expect too much for the price. after a week i picked it up at a local pawn shop/firearms dealer and was happy with the fit & finish. better than what i thought it might be from the stock photo. has good heft to it & seems to be well made. i will say... read the book that came with it before loading up and shooting. i loaded the clip with 10 rounds of solid lead tipped .22 winchester that the book does recommend using and i never do in autos because they always get jammed up in the loader ramp but i said i\'ll give it a try.. don\'t they jammed up in the feeder ramp and i was trying to unload 1 at a time with my truck key while holding open the slide. who ever came up with the bright idea of a magazine lock safety should be shot. read the book again. loaded 10 rounds of solid tip remington .22 racked the slide and nothing but a hammer click & no bang.. so again i\'m unloading bullets 1 by 1 and thinking that i got a lemon & that there\'s something wrong with the firing pin. read the book again. loaded up 3 rounds in clip and made sure i was doing everything just like the book read & my mistake was not flipping up the safety firing pin block and this time it fired all rounds without any problems. good pistol for the money. is yes. to many safety\'s. is yes. does it make the pistol safer to use. a no.

Really good gun for the money. It is accurate, and has yet to jam with any type of ammo I have put in it. It will feed crimped rat shot in addition to regular loads. Only thing I can say that I don't like about it is the trigger disconnect when the mag is out. But, that's an easy fix if you look on the net. All in all, a great buy for all around use. LM
