The Phoenix Arms HP22A is a well designed and built gun, especially at this price point. It\'s a great gun to teach firearm skills to new shooters, females and elderly people who might be sensitive to the recoil from firearms. I would like to see Phoenix Arms add a \"Last Round Hold Open\" follower to their magazines and update the \"Dis-assemble\" tab to make it easier to use. A captive recoil spring system would also be a great addition. I highly recommend this firearm for anyone looking for an affordable, accurate and reliable firearm. Additionally, it would be nice to have more accessories available (such as grips, sights, lasers and holsters) for this firearm.

This is a nice little gun, even though the extra safetys are a little to much. Great price from Buds. fast service, good people to talk with. will shop there again.

I read several reviews and watched several YouTube video reviews on the Phoenix HP22 before Buying and I must say it is an excellent, accurate, fun to shoot little .22. Also the extra safeties take a little getting used to, but are not a Big problem. The only drawback is that the manufacturer suggests only using standard velocity ammo which is a little hard to find and more expensive than high velocity but Cabelas has a good selection. You can buy it online, but with shipping it gets even more costly. CCI .22 standard ammo 500 rounds was 39.99 at a local gun shop while Aguila 500 rounds was 24.95, and the Aguila did just fine for me. Again the Phoenix HP22 did just fine with the first 150 rounds so far and I would highly recommend it and Buds If you are looking for a good .22 ACP.

Great little plinker. I purchased this HP 22 for a small range gun that my wife could shoot and handle with ease. It has a very light recoil spring so it is easy to pull back...unless you have to chamber a round every time you pull the trigger. I think besides the multiple safties...the only falt I can see is that it is ammo sensitive. You need and should use only standard velocity ammo. If you use any standard velocity ammo it will function without fail. Use anything subsonic and you might as well use a single shot repeater. Use anything high velocity and you may crack the frame. However for only $130...and 22 ammo being super cheap to is hard to go wrong with this little pistol. I am sure my son will learn to shoot with this little plinker as well. This is something anyone can shoot and will have fun doing so.
