I really like my .22TCM. Took it out and fired it and 9MM was flawless and accurate at 25yds. .22 TCM had a few hiccups and I took advantage of RIA's lifelong warranty. Pistol is in RIA's gunsmith shop as I write this. I am sure it will come back working flawlessly. I have 6 other RIA 1911s including a Baby Rock, and they all eat anything I put in them. RIA and Bud's ROCK!

The gun is great quality except for the cheap plastic grips, that being said I changed the grips to Hogue for P14 which required some minor fitting with my Dremel. I don't believe that I will ever use the 9mm barrel as I have numerous 9mm already. Bud's was very fast on this order for a change. I buy allot of guns from them...generally I am pleased and will continue to be a Team Bud's member.

This was my first purchase from Buds and my first Rock Island Armory Product. Great experience all around. The pistol is solidly built, great fit and finish, clean machine work, really nice sites, very well packaged. Manufacturer included manual recommends 500 round break-in period. First trip to the range ran 50 rounds 22TCM and 50 rounds 9mm with not one single failure. 0 fail to feed, 0 fail to extract/eject, 0 fail to fire. I've had much higher costing 1911 platform pistols that took 150-300 rounds to wear in and run 100%, not a whole bunch but a few. This is a very well made pistol sold by a very customer friendly dealer.

Put the first 50 - 22TCM and 50 - 9mm through it yesterday and it ran really well, I was very pleased. No problems and the trigger pull was great. Buds delivery went as smooth as could be expected in December, ordered on a Monday and arrived at FFL on Thursday morning.

After about 300 rounds of 22 TCM & 300 rounds 9mm I am ready to write a review. This gun is outstanding! Shooting the 22 TCM is virtually recoil free and my sights were sighted perfectly...I was shooting holes in holes! The fireball from the muzzle began taking the paint off the lane wall at the range and others had to stop to see what I was shooting! The ammo was hard to find in the Dallas area, but could get them online (for $8/box less!) from ARMSCOR! Also got 2 extra 17 round magazines from them, which can shoot 9mm also! Shooting the 9mm was quite simple by swapping out the included barrel and recoil spring, and the accuracy did not diminish. I painted a white dot on the front sight, since none of my sights were dotted; put Hogue wrap-around grips; and with the 9mm setup, I could use the Para Ord. 18 round magazines! 18 +1 rounds of 9mm in a 1911 at a price of $600!!! Amazing!!! I have, and will, recommend this gun, with its nice fit and finish to any and all who want a solid tack driver for the range or home defense (I had absolutely ZERO failures using both calibers!) at an entry level price! Seriously thinking of getting another!

My initial impression of the gun was that the fit and finish on the metal was outstanding. The grips and screws, not so much so. Grips and screws will be upgraded so that's a minor concern. The pistol feeds well, shoots well and the 22TCM is a real attention grabber and is fun to shoot. The change over to the included 9mm barrel and spring is straightforward and easy. I experienced no problem shooting or feeding either caliber. All in all, I'm impressed with the RIA brand. I have found it to be a well executed pistol and a value in the marketplace. Accessories are somewhat limited and there's not a lot of robust information about aftermarket items (grips, screws, magazines, etc.) but as more of these make their way to the public, that should improve. Bud's was a bit slower on delivery on this pistol that I've found in the past. I attribute that to limited supply of these pistols. It was worth the wait and, once again, Bud's delivered well. The biggest problem I've found with this pistol is that, since this is my first 1911 style pistol, now I want another one in a different caliber. I'll certainly consider another Rock Island Armory pistol.
