The Canik 55 S-120 is by far the most solid and smooth shooting 9mm I have ever owned. When instinct shooting, it's natural lines are very true to the point of impact. It's light color also contributes to instinct shooting in very low light situations. One design quality to consider is that the only way to de-cock the weapon is to put a thumb on the hammer, pull the trigger and slowly lower the hammer. This freaks out supervisors at the gun range. However, I prefer having a de-cocked weapon in my holster when on duty and can easily cock it in the holster if the situation allows or fire with the double action otherwise. I also like the design factor that the upper slide rides on the inside of the lower receiver instead of the outside like most other autos. The only improvement I could imagine the Canik 55 is if it could be all stainless steel instead of chrome on carbon steel. My salty sweaty ( south Florida ) hands did eventually get through the finish on mine and I had to refinish it.

Had this gun 8 months or so. Put about 1000 rounds through it with no issues. It is a 6 oclock shooter so at least with mine as long as I put the target just above the front sight it's a tackdriver. Best with range ammo is 2" groups of 5 at 25 yards from a rest. I'm happy with that all day. 1.5" at 10 yards. At 7 yards it's just a big ragged hole.Just ordered the CZ75bd so it will be fun to compare. I don't feel like it's quite as good as the older PO7 duty with the omega trigger though. Looks much better though. Well worth the price. Now if CANIK could keep up with demand and start importing again, I can get a Shark FC. It'll probably be a feeding frenzy and everyone will be out of stock in days. I have several of the Turkish guns...Tisas, Girsan.. they are all well made, accurate guns for taking to the range and having fun.

THIS GUN....is a best value hands down!!!! Crazy accurate with solid build albeit a little polishing inside would be nice. I have 4 Turkish builds now and am buying another. Each one is a solid performer and I'm rating it against my competition guns which are high end builds. No kidding, a very good shooter that rivals my CZ in every way for less. Do it, pull the trigger and order it...you wont be sorry.

This ones pristine shooting machine.AS GOOD or Better than a browning hi power, hardly any recoil and accurate from 30 yards. Gun is put together very well. Quality gun and a jewel in my collection. Thanks!!!!!!

Great duty pistol, I usually go for striker fire handguns, but the reason I purchased this pistol because it is a excellent clone to CZ 75 which is a sweet DA pistol, great for time at the range doing drills, home defense or CC even though it is a full size pistol. The best qualities of this pistol is that is compatible with CZ 75 parts, mags, & holsters at a fraction of the price! Get yours!

Wow,this is a nice pistol! Fit and finish are very good, shoots good without a single fail to feed, fail to eject, just no problems at all. The grip is a little fat so people with small hands might not like that. Sights are OK and the trigger is very good with nice clean break and no creep at all. A beautiful pistol and a steal at the price. Thank you Bud's Guns for the great layaway plan which makes it very easy to buy and thanks for such a smooth buying experience. By the way, I learned about Bud's Gun Shop through Hickok45.

This thing is amazing, well made, smooth and accurate. The double action trigger is long but it isn't gritty or heavy, the sights are bright, and best of all if there's something you don't like, regular CZ accessories and parts swap right in. This is just a good pistol, that its affordable is a bonus.

Excellent CZ clone. As good if not better at fraction of cost. Another fantastic deal from Bud's.

I picked this up when buds had it on sale for 339. I had been wanting a CZ 75 but for $130 bucks less for a clone that everyone seemed to be reviewing positively, I had to check it out. Buds shipped it via 2 day air for free so good job buds on that! It came coated pretty heavily in oil, not really a negative but bring a cleaning towel with you when you go pick it up. The finish is definitely a cerakote, not hard chrome, with a few blemishes. The slide to frame fit has a little slop, but not a big deal as this pistol is accurate! It feels good in the hand and puts bullets where you want them to go. The plastic grips leave something to be desired, but that is easily fixed. One thing I have noticed that is a bit of a safety issue, if you slam a new mag in a little too hard when the slide is locked back, the slide will release chambering a round. So keep your finger off the trigger when reloading! These come with a 1 year warranty though so I am still debating trying to have it fixed or not. It is not a big deal if you practice good gun safety all the time. for 340 shipped, it is a great deal. at 450, I would spend the extra 30 and get a CZ.

I was one of the lucky ones to be able to get this on their unbelievable Cyber Monday sale. Even though I only paid a fraction of the retail price, this gun is amazing. The fit and finish is outstanding! I have not shot it since I just picked up from my FFL yesterday. Buds prices are always one of the best out there. Their customer service has been top notch as well.

Ordered on Monday and picked up from my local FFL on Thursday. Haven't gotten a chance to hit the range with it yet but fit, feel and finish are excellent. Once again Bud's service was top shelf.

I have a couple of CZ-75 clone products and I really love the platform. This is a good example of how well an inexpensive gun can be put together. Shoots very well, consistently with different types of ammo including flat nosed (Guard Dog), hollow points, and traditional round nose FMJ. Sights were good, easy to see, and easy to put on target. Feel is like all CZ-75 type guns. Great in the hand, very natural to the grip. Fit was good, and while I have seen and shot better there are no complaints, and lacking a custom fit is pretty typical for this level of production firearm. Grips were fine, but the standard plastic grip feels just like you would expect. I went ahead and got some Aluminium grips for the CZ-75 from Hogue to dress it up a bit, and they fit without modifications (others have claimed they needed to do some small fit on the wood grips). Came with two mags, both worked fine with full and partial loadings. I have some old CZ mags from an 1980's era clone that functioned fine, but the base pad is larger. Other factors include the weight. The S-120 is all steel and it is pretty heavy. I love shooting steel guns and am glad to have another. A steel CZ style is all about recoil control. Shots are easy to control, and the force pushes back into the hand with much less muzzle flip. This is great for getting back on target. The only other consideration is the trigger. The DA trigger is HEAVY. Not atypical of this type of gun, but if you haven't shot one, it may come as a surprise. The SA is fairly clean, and while I wouldn't say it was as crisp as breaking glass, mine is not mushy at all. It is consistent, with a decent reset. Not a 1911 reset, but good and easy to find with my trigger finger. Buds was great as usual. shipped the same day as I bought it, and it arrived mid-day to the FFL 2 business days later. Quentin Defense was my local FFL and I can never say enough good about how you get treated there. Gun was probably clean enough to shoot out of the box, but I took it home, Frog Lubed it and it shot great. There are some replacement springs available for the Canik that should lighten the DA pull that I might try after I have had it for a while.

Fit and finish was good, and with a custom set of CZ 75 grips it looked as nice as a high end gun ! After market grips for a CZ 75 require very little fitting to work on the Canik 55. And the custom torx grip screws for a CZ work as well and ad a nice touch . As usual Buds did a fine job from start to finish , communication was top notch and the make offer deal was great. Thanks again Buds

Purchased this from Bud's 1 1/2 years ago. Bud's is always great to deal with. Would have given the Canik 4 stars when I got it. Very Good - not great. Compared to my son's CZ-75. Exterior fit & finish is slightly nicer on the CZ although if you didn't have them to compare, the Canik S-120 is very nice. I would ding it a star for the plastic grips (in my opinion they look cheap) and the very heavy double action pull - heavier than my son's CZ. Both are easy to fix. I put some VZ grips on and it looks sharp and feels great in the hand. Also, replaced the hammer spring with a kit from a 3rd party (made specifically for this gun) and it significantly improved both the double and single action. I have also put some hi visibility target sights on. It is one of my favorite range guns now. I took it to a four day class and it got plenty of oohs and ahs in the looks department. It was dead on accurate and over 600 rounds without a single malfunction. Speaking of malfunctions, due to the slim slide and thin serrations it is a little difficult to manipulate in malfunction drills. It takes practice. With my modifications I love love this pistol!

First order with buds and it went perfect. When I picked up the gun my first impression was less than expected. Finish was not the best. Had rough edges and machine marks on the inside. Nothing too major just little things I was not happy with. Slide and mags didn't seem to fit perfectly(slight clicking when I shook the gun or taped on it). One of the grip screws stuck out just enough to feel it in the palm of your hand when holding the gun. I took the firearm out the next day. Put about 300 rounds though it. Use everything from blazer brass and Winchester hollow points to tula and cheap reloads. NOT ONE PROBLEM. And the grouping of my shots were more than satisfaction. Had five clays placed around the side of a hill from 25 to 30 yards away from me and hit them all using nine rounds. Even though the finish isn't the best and the problem with the screw(easy to fix) are present the gun performed better than expected. Being left handed I plan on buying an 85 next

What a great gun. You can't beat it for the price I paid... Make an offer, you'd be surprised how low they will sell it to you for! As stated before, the satin chrome finish is very nice.... it's not perfect, but for the price it's incredible. The sights are good, they shoot to the 12 o'clock position so you will shoot very low if you aim below your intended target. I was shooting basically one bullet behind the other into the same hole on paper at 10 yards. At 20 yards, which is plenty far for a pistol, I could keep all of the shots within a 4 inch target. You might think that's a big target, but, at twenty yards shooting rapidly it's not easy. This gun is ACCURATE! Probably the most accurate gun I own. Already put over 600 rounds of WWB through it with not even a single hiccup. This gun does not fail. It fires every time. I can't say enough good things about it. For the price, you won't get anything better. Heck, I think for twice the price you can't get much better. By the way, as always, BUDS was absolutely great.

very nice, tight, well made pistol. The only caveat i have is that some of my cast reloads seem to be ever so slightly larger diameter. The shoot fine in my glock & kahr c9, but they jam in the canik. Perhaps after i shoot a few hundred rounds, clean it, & break it in a bit more, those will not jam. I had trouble just getting the live round out of the chamber, & even when i pried it out, the bullet projectile came off & was stuck in the chamber! This is a very nice, heavy pistol, & would make a great duty/HD pistol. The chrome is deep.. not just a plating.

I received it today at my FFL and put 150 rounds on it , right out of the box, no cleaning, just put the ammo and shot the target at 10, 15, 25 yards No problem what so ever. Very low recoil, no FTF , no FTE . Very accurate . I like it. Especially at this price. Good job buds gun shop!

I recommend this weapon to anyone looking for a quality gun at a reasonable price! The S120 shoots very accurate, no jams, and no failure to feed after 250 rounds. This weapon feels and shoots like the cz75 and the cz magazines even fit this weapon. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and would rebuy this gun in a heartbeat. Buds service was as great as always and definately look forward to purchasing more weapons from them in the future.

1st: My order. Online odering was a breeze. Item and pricing as well as information was accurate and available. I placed order on Sat and by Thurs I was at the range. Excellent communication and updates from Bud's. 2nd: The pistol. The Canik s-120 came in a nice plastic case. 2 magazines, cleaning brush and even a lock for gun case. I have run 400 rounds so far and weapon has fired excellently. This Canikfeels like a much more eexpensive pistol. I am very impressed and pleased with my decision to buy this gun. Thanks Buds for excellent service and Canik for making on heck of a gun at a beyond resonable price !

I got this Canik back in November/2012 instead of waiting for a CZ75 to be available. It just took alittle over a week to get it from Buds and I wasn't disappointed one bit. The gun is SUPER, all steel and solid. Bud's e-mail's kept me informed thru the whole order processing until it arrived at my FFL. Bud's prices are the best I have found and will buy again. I finally shot the gun last weekend, very accurate. Easy to take apart for cleaning. I'm now looking at the smaller version for my next purchase....Tristar C-100. Thanks Bud for your superior service, product line, and terrific prices!!!

A very nice looking gun. Made well. Fun to shoot. Took to the range today. Shot 100 rounds. Could had done alot more if I had the shells. Can't want to go back. Was shooting at 25 yds. Not one problem with it. Going to get the Stingray next. Buds was great. Fifth gun from them.
