I am happy with this rifle. Was debating over getting the .223 but decided on this. I like the shorter tactical barrel. NIce and compact rifle that can reach out pretty far. Will most likely get rid of the rubber stock and replace it with a nice chassis.

AWESOME !!! Just got back from the range and the first 200 rounds through it. After adding a Timney Trigger, a Nikon M-308 BDC Scope, a Bell and Carlson Stock, and a bipod, I completely destroyed the Bullseye on my target at 100 yards. It took a few rounds to get it Zero'd, but after that I was impressed !!! I didn't know I still had it, shooting a rifle, as I am mainly a Pistol guy. I knew the trigger was recalled, but I wanted a competition trigger, so I bought it anyway. I can't wait to get it out on the 800 yard range. Mike - US Army Pistol Team 1974 -1977

This Remington 700 SPS Tactical 308 rifle is the most accurate gun I have. It can shoot 175 gr Federal Gold Medal Match (7.62 and 308) at 100 yards with 0.6" MOA, HSM 168 gr match with 0.7 MOA and many hunting bullets with 1.0" MOA. It is a little bit heavy, but the heavy 20" barrel and the original stock do the job. I plan to buy one more for 223, but Remington 700 Tactical is out of stock now (June 2014). Hope that it will back to stock again.

Extremely happy with this rifle and it's a real value at the Bud's price. I recently found out that it was subject to a recall for the trigger, but that's something I planned to upgrade in the future anyway. Buds service and fast shipping were top notch.

I've had this rifle for a few years now and after swapping the stock out I can honestly say I'm in love with this rifle. Using hornady steel match 155gr bthp I am able to punch under .5 inch groups at 100 yds. I'm sure if I shot more and put a better scope on it would be better but ammo is not easy in my area to get at this time.

I studied up on this rifle. I read several reviews and watched several videos. I had read that some of the guns were either being sent back or adjusted by local gunsmiths due to feeding issues and errant shots. I would say 5% or less of the reviews I read had an issue. 95% were glowing for this gun. I really wanted to love this gun out of the box. Unfortunately, I must have received one of the 5% guns. I have to pull the bolt back with force in order to get the bullet to feed correctly. When I do, it takes gorilla strength to get the bolt locked in place and the bullet fed. I can see some scratching on my shell casings. I'm gonna have to take this gun to my local gunsmith in order to fix the issues. Unfortunately, I also get 1 out of 15 errant shots. I'm still sighting in my sight, and I'm not an expert shot, but...now WAY I'm causing errant shots using good Federal Match King bullets. I'm going to try HSM and a few others soon to test out. I knew what I was getting into. I think once I get it to a gunsmith and replace the stock...I will love this gun.
