I literally cannot say enough good about this gun. I\'ve wanted it for a few years and now that I finally have it, it did not disappoint. Went straight to the range after picking it up and immediately ran 100 rounds through it, no oil, nothing and it performed flawlessly. Even with Federal Aluminum case ammunition, no jams, FTEs or FTFs and a roughly 1\" shot group at 15 yards. Most accurate handgun I\'ve ever fired and about 500 rounds later, the most reliable. Owned it for about a month now and not a single issue. The fit, finish and trigger are all amazing. It gets compliments every time I go to the range. I I didn\'t think the 1911 trigger could get any better but this trigger is so light with a crisp break it\'s amazing. The aluminium frame makes it noticeably lighter but NOT cheap feeling. Perfectly balanced with a loaded mag and light enough for EDC. You can pay a lot more for a 1911 show piece or you can spend a grand on one this one that performs just as well and is tough enough for the worst conditions. Nothing stops this gun. It more than lives up to the Operator name and I wouldn\'t hesitate to trust my life with it. The gun comes with a paddle holster, mag holster and 2 mags. Plus at the time of this review, with Springfield\'s current promotion, they will send you an additional holster, mag holster (the same ones the gun comes with) and FOUR magazines for FREE. If you\'re considering this Springfield, whether your considering something cheaper than an overpriced 1911 or considering your first 1911, do yourself a favor and don\'t hesitate to buy this one. With Springfield\'s reputation and Buds excellent service, you will NOT be disappointed.

This Springfield is excellent. Great gun and great service from Bud's as usual. The 1911 Operator was accurate right out of the box. I've put 400 rounds through it so far and it is a joy to shoot. Smooth as silk and it ate all different brands of ammo flawlessly. If you're looking for a great 1911 that's not gonna cost $1500 or more, then look no further. This is the second firearm I've purchased from Bud's and it won't be the last, top notch service.

This Lightweight Operator is outstanding. Thanks to Buds for the easy online ordering and super quick shipping to Guam. Not to mention the price for this 1911 was a steal, most other dealers have ridiculous prices for this Springfield. Thanks Buds!

Buds service was great this was my first order from them and everything went smoothly. Once I got the firearm it was a beauty I was expecting it to be heavier so it was a plus. This was my first 1911 in my collection and I have to admit the field striping on it was quiet different then what I was use to again this is from my experience first time 1911 owner curve. This 1911 ate through ball ammo no problem but was a little more picky on hollow points. I figure it was possibly a feed ramp issue and after some intense polishing she was running through everything. I contacted Springfield Armory a couple of times on accessories for this unit. I was simply amazed by there customer service. Overall this was a good purchase. Buds execution was flawless.

1st of all Excellent service from Buds, communication was 1st rate, I received emails when my payment was received as well as when my pistol was shipped w/ tracking info. OK, this pistol is a freakin' tack driver! I just returned from the range firing 550 rounds of different ammo from several manufacturers, including the Cheap Russian Tul 230 gr Ammo, PMC 230 gr Brass Ammo & Federal 230 gr ammo. This bad boy ate through every single round w/ out 1 misfire, failure to feed, failure to eject or any malfunction of any sort! By the 300th round I was like " Umm this is the most reliable .45 I have ever shot!". I own a Glock full size .45 & a Ruger P90 .45 which both are extremely reliable especially my Glock, but a day at the range usually includes 1 or 2 FTF's or FTE's or stove pipes, but this Springer did not have one!! I could have shot 1000 rounds & I think it still would have been eating up the ammo. Super tight gun, slide to frame is very tight w/ no rattles at all, extremely accurate pistol 2" groups at 10 yards. This defintely will not be my last Springfield. I plan on purchasing many firearms from Buds, as their prices can't be beat & they ship super fast!! If you are looking for an upper end .45 buy the Lightweight Operator! This is my new favorite gun & can't wait to get back to the rang! WELL DONE SPRINGFIELD! Thanks Buds!
