This is an exceptional pistol! I have never owned a 1911 style handgun previously, having owned several Glocks in .40SW and a 9mm Ruger Model P89. I think I have bought a superb example of this classic 1911 firearm and I am very impressed with the quality and accuracy of this gun. My best group of 10 rounds of 230Gr FMJ was just over 1 inch at 10 yds, which impressed me. I could also repeatedly hit a 12-15 inch dia steel gong at 50 yds for ~7 out of 10 shots by holding a litlle high, which is better than I can get with my G22. I chose the single stack 1911 version, as it fits my hand more easily than the double stacked pistols that Para Ordnance manufactures. The only problems I had were one failure to feed on my second string, but I believe that this was due to the initial tightness of the slide etc and then the Cocobolo grips actually came loose after 150 rounds, which was a surprise, but I tightened them back up and have had no issues since. I think they were simply under-torqued to start with. Overall I am very impressed with the quality of my purchase and I would recommend Para Ordnance to any else who wants to buy a quality handgun.

Excellent Pistol from para. Out of the box shoots consistant groups at 20yds with cheap shells. Sights are slightly off (could be the ammo) but the 3in groups make up for it. The slide is tight and stiff but should loosen up with time. There is a breakin period that once completed should help with the slide and sights. Anyone looking for a good shooting comfortable 1911 should consider the para, for the price it is unbeatable.
